How many times do you see a great thread get trashed or hijacked for various reasons and I'll take the "Stand" and say I'm the worst for doing that..  So when I'm acting stupid tell me to trash it here, get it?? Rants - Cheers - Pet Peeves - or your Aunt Lilly, bring it..  (More then likely the dumbest thread anybody started, but I tried to keep it stupid, stupid) - The Forum Moderators rules still apply, no obscene pics, raunchy language and personal attacks, those will be reported and deleted if not changed...

(edited 9/13/2017 - Added link Request for Forum Etiquette - Added another link 9/21/2017 Forum filtering )

To Quote the Great Rick Becker.....

"When a perfectly valid and good question is asked, the thread gets a lot of great answers and some more questions. Once the questions has been answered to each persons (this includes you and me) satisfaction, we no longer need or want the discussion to continue.
We get the emails notifying us that another (and another and another and another...) post has been made and we get frustrated with the time wasting and we get snarky.

The other thing that seems to happen all too often is a post gets hijacked. The discussion moves off of the initial topic (ONE and TWO...) into many sub topics. Sometimes this happens and the initial question hasn't been totally answered."

Another Great Quote from Dennis Dohogne

"Hey, SWX guys and gals, what if we used THIS post for some of our more fun or tangential comments so we keep the other posts with more serious discussions from getting distracted/off-topic (polluted)?"

How about this from belly dancer Todd Blacksher

- In an effort to keep the posts somewhat on topic, and make it easy to pick out the "good information," a couple of us thought it would be a good idea to put in a water cooler. Are you completely confused? It's simple, if there is a thread where we are all helping someone find a solution, and it makes you think of something semi-related, you can say "Head over to "The Kitty Dump"

We need a good quote from Kelef Man to get it started.....

Awesome Scott, that's a good age spread too! My son/daughter are 20 months apart (31 & 33), my wife's boy and girl (28 & 29) are a year and a week apart, they get along a lot better than my two...

First time I've heard of Cassini - what was the mission? do you know?

By: John Stoltzfus  Fri, 15 Sep 2017 15:49:34 GMT
Re: The "Kitty Dump" - Watercooler - Trash it Here

Cassini–Huygens - Wikipedia

The Cassini–Huygens (/ˌkəˈsini ˈhɔɪˌɡəns/) (commonly called Cassini) mission was a collaboration between the United States' NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) to send a probe to study the planet Saturn and its system, including its rings and natural satellites. The Flagship-class unmanned robotic spacecraft comprised both NASA's Cassini probe, and ESA's Huygens lander which would be landed on Saturn's largest moon, Titan.[7] Cassini was the fourth space probe to visit Saturn and the first to enter its orbit. The craft were named after astronomers Giovanni Cassini and Christiaan Huygens.

Launched aboard a Titan IVB/Centaur on 15 October 1997, Cassini had been active in space for more than 18 years, with 13 years spent orbiting Saturn, studying the planet and its system since entering orbit on 1 July 2004.[8] The voyage to Saturn included flybys of Earth (August 1999), Venus (April 1998 + July 1999), and Jupiter (December 2000). Its mission ended on 15 September 2017, when Cassini flew into Saturn's upper atmosphere and burned up at a very high temperature,[9][10] in order to prevent any risk of contaminating Saturn's moons, some of which have active environments that could potentially bear life.[11][12] (At that point Cassini lacked sufficient impulse to leave the Saturn system, so it could only be left in orbit where it might collide with a moon, or be destroyed.) The mission is widely perceived to have been successful beyond expectation. Cassini-Huygens has been described by NASA's Planetary Science Division Director as a "mission of firsts",[13] that has revolutionized human understanding of the Saturn system, including its moons and rings, and our understanding of where life might be found in the Solar System.

Cassini's original mission was planned to last for four years, from June 2004 to May 2008. The mission was extended for another two years until September 2010, branded the Cassini Equinox Mission. The mission was extended a second and final time with the Cassini Solstice Mission, lasting another seven years until 15 September 2017, on which date Cassini was de-orbited by being allowed to burn up in Saturn's upper atmosphere.

The Huygens module traveled with Cassini until its separation from the probe on 25 December 2004; it was successfully landed by parachute on Titan on January 14, 2005. It successfully returned data to Earth for around 90 minutes, using the orbiter as a relay. This was the first landing ever accomplished in the outer Solar System and the first landing on a moon other than our own. Cassini continued to study the Saturn system in the following years.

At the end of its mission, the Cassini spacecraft executed the "Grand Finale" of its mission: a number of risky passes through the gaps between Saturn and Saturn's inner rings.[4][5] The purpose of this phase was to maximize Cassini's scientific outcome before the spacecraft was destroyed.[14] The atmospheric entry of Cassini effectively ended the mission, although data analysis and production will continue afterwards.

Re: The "Kitty Dump" - Watercooler - Trash it Here

Calling all cats to the Kitty Huddle - brain f art here - must be a Friday but here it is.....

This past week has been a rush of etiquette's of how to post on the forum - or rather we go on a guy's post (now this guy had great intentions of making his point, yep, gonna tell how I feel), all great till we all jump on the same band wagon saying the same thing in a different way and then repeating each other over and over again and again...... Rant rant rant.....

Weeee - Meow -   this is where,  (whisper meow and chew on a hair ball for 10 seconds), we need to come, (stretch the claws and lick the tail for another 10 seconds), ahhhm, oh we need to come, (friggen fleas scratch scratch), where were we, oh we need to find a mascot GIF - I suggest one with a finger in each ear and the the tongue out, saying neeen neee ne neeee or something like that, (scretch behind the ears  oh  oh ohohh ohh, that felt good), then everyone that catches somebody taking a post off the path, you reply and just post the picture, which you can delete later.....

Jim, I agree.

But she sure makes John's point.

Someone can turn this into a MEME.

Sometimes you just need a small dump..

Sometimes you need a really big dump..

And sure, both of those say CAT. Sometimes you really need a cat in a dump truck.
