My name is Anna Bradley and i work for SIMULIA, which like SolidWorks is part of D assault Systemes. We are currently looking for folks who are very familiar with SolidWorks who would be willing to participate in our User Research studies. This involves chatting with one of our researchers over webex, or filling out a survey at your convenience.

When I try to few a cut plot in flow simulator my computer crashes. I have tried every thing I've read online and nothing seems to help. I have a dell precision m3800 with a NVIDIA Quadro K1100M graphics card and I am running on windows 8.1

I would like some help from this highly respected forums. I have been working to do a motion of a gyroscope and I believe my gyroscope have shown a correct behavior. I intend to plot the graph of angular velocity of the spinning wheel (omega s) vs time and also angular velocity of the precession (omega p) vs time so that i can prove following theory.

Is there a way to time-vary the ambient temperature to simulate the temp throughout a day in flow simulation? As an example, please have a look at the following figure:

I know radiation can be used as a heating source in thermal simulation but I can't find any resources describing how to apply it in a flow simulation. I am modeling a furnace where the pipes are used to cool the furnace so they have water flowing through them and hot air moves outside the pipes. The melted steel is several feet below the pipes and I want to see if the glow from the steel has a significant effect on the pipes' temperature. The steel is 3000F.

I have a rectangular shaped 120 x 120 mm object with a 8.8 mm thickness, i want to apply a temperature in the interieur surface ( blue one indicated in the image ) of that object equals to 120 degree celcuis, i want to know what would be the temperature at the outer surface of that object. if i simply do, then the temperature ll be all the same in all the object and the outer surface ll have a 120°c temperature also ( image 2 ), how can i solve my problem which consists of knowing the

For a while I've noticed that switching to the "Hidden Lines Removed" display mode simulation results are much brighter. I'd use it for reports and screenshots so its just a little easier to compare results with the legend. Now some files I've been working on have stopped doing it, and the results look the same (dim) between modes. Only the simulation symbols change in brightness.

There is an option in flow simulation wizard(initial conditions) to enter your desirable temperature and pressure which I believe they are initial conditions. There are also temp and pressure options when you want to define your boundary conditions for both opening flow and and opening pressure. I am a bit confused about how to use them correctly. Can someone explain them to me please?

I just wanted to make sure I'm spending time with a product for which SolidWorks has a vision. With Motion, it is difficult to get help and if you look at the forum entries many of them go un-answered. It seems to change very little, with the exception of becoming chromatically challenged in 2016 to match the rest of the SolidWorks software group.

Is it possible to easily run a study multiple times with various different values for forces and the like, whilst keeping the mesh and the places that the forces/constraints are applied identical? What I am looking for seems similar to the variable and scenario options avaliable with a design study, but I cannot find any way to do this with a simulation study. This would make things significantly faster for me, as opposed to duplicating and editing studies each time, and it would be an easier

metal plates simulation Hi i hope someone can help me in simulating ,i have a project where we dig 30cm deep 3.7mx4.7m hole in a street in certain time we have to cover the hole with 2 2mx6mx2cm metal plates for traffic to pass we need to know if these plates can handle 4 tonne car passing without breaking or bending too mush or we need to place some reinforcement beams under it thank you

I am attempting to simulate no linear deflection in a shipping container where foam is used to retain the upper part of a large object. It has been shown in some of the higher g loading applications that the foam will deflect beyond the linear region and into the area where cell collapse happens which has a different stress strain curve. I would like to know if there an effective way of performing this analysis without having to perform two studies.

I am a new learner of SolidWorks and like the immense capabilities it offers. I am performing static stress analysis of an assembly. It consists of 3 simple solid cylinders and two hollow cylinders. The area of interest for me is the stress at the junction of the top cylinder with the inner cylinder in the assembly.

I am having quite a hard time getting my tubeframe chassis to perform correctly in a static model simulation. I am attempting to conduct a torsional rigidity test, and have no problem testing the model without any bent tubing, but when I try to run the model w/ bent tubing the joints never calculate correctly! This is throwing off the mesh and doesn't allow the test to work.

Random vibration analysis results, acceleration plots. I am a new SolidWorks Simulation user and after completing a Random Vibration analysis, I ended up with an Acceleration Plot that looks confusing to me. I am hoping that someone can give me an explanation to what I am seeing in the acceleration plots.
