I have worked for several different companies now and every company's "set-up" is just a huge mess. I want to know if there is a way out there to "organize", "set-up", and add all the content to make a very functional Solidworks? A more correct way to setup SolidWorks or the ideal way to set it up.

Currently using SNL SW2015 to manage 100 licenses. Upgrading client computers to Windows 10 AND upgrading to SNL SW2017. Do I need to reclaim licenses before the reimage/upgrade?

Like many I use SolidWorks on a desktop (most of the time) and a laptop (occasionally). For as long as I can recall, SolidWorks has let users install the application on the desktop and laptop and activate it on desktop and laptop. At any one time a user could have 2 activations running. This was convenient and (from my perspective) a USP for SolidWorks.

Did you know that Solidworks rescinded the ability to activate your license on two separate machines? This was super handy when you had a portable laptop and an office computer setup. Or, some call it a "home" license, allowing you to activate at the office and at home. Now we have to transfer our license between the computers or purchase an additional license for the second machine.

SOLIDWORKS GUIDS I have been collecting all the GUIDs of previous years of Solidworks back to 2012 in an effort to assist in the uninstalls of various components and previous versions. Since I haven't seen a comprehensive list anywhere, I thought I would share this here.

We run multiple versions of Solidworks with Windchill WGM. Recently, we've added SW2016. Currently, we maintain SW2014, 2015, and 2016. Just recently, post installing SW2016, I started receiving the following pop up message when starting SW2015: "Document Manager available is not valid for use, switching to non DM Mode." (see attached screenshot) It started occurring directly after installing SW2016.

Have 2017 SP3 installed, updated windows with the creators update, and now I can open parts in SW, but the moment I try and create or open a drawing, it crashes SW. Also the Crash reporter crashes, and Solidworks RX crashes. Everything is useless. Anyone know a fix?

I think we need a little more info. Can you please show the actual message you are getting? It's important to know what card is in your system and whether the warning message refers to the card/driver/both.

We just heard from our bean counters. We have a in-distributed work order we have to log into when we are have solidworks software issues. Our accounting dept just reported to us that we has just over $35,000 dollars in billable hours logged on it. That is in a dept of 3 people.

We are looking into a new desktop for our shop. We use Solidworks for designing boats and smaller projects. We are hoping to stay around the $5,000CAD or less while still getting a computer where we won’t have issues running the program for the next few years. The only other important program we would run on the desktop is Rhino.

I am trying to install the latest service pack in SW 2017. In the summary tab of the installation my "Install Now" button is greyed out and when I mouse over the button then a message pops up "Select your Tool Box installation method". Ok. So I can not do anything in the Toolbox/Hole Wizard Options because the "Change" Button is Grayed out Too.
