Does Solidworks CAM have the capability to automatically adjust the feedrate in arcs? I am roughing a concave semicircular feature and i would like to reduce the feed rate. I know I can go edit the tool path but that is time consuming. I think some CAM systems can do this automatically.

Is there a way to disable this thing. I am trying to do a drawing of a multibody part, and EVERY time I go to select a body, I get a stupid warning about Solidworks CAM data needs to be updated. EVERY single freakin' time, no matter if I select OK or CANCEL.

I wasted an hour reading through the turning tutorial and trying to figure out why nothing would work. I could choose "Turn Single Turret" as the machine (even though, as I now realize, it was grayed out and the "Select" button was unavailable) but "Turn Operations" on the Command Manager never activated. I though maybe it was something wrong with my settings or installation.

Day three of General Sessions at SOLIDWORKS World started off with Mike Puckett, Senior Manager of the Worldwide Certification Program, who gave the audience a glimpse of the workforce of the future. According to Mike the SOLIDWORKS certification program, which celebrates its 20th anniversary, initially took 16 years to reach 100,000 certified users, but over the last two years it’s doubled in size with 200,000 new users now certified. In 2017 alone, the program added over 52,000 new certified

There has been a lot of conversation lately about a design-to-manufacture workflow as it relates to improving communication and efficiency within a company. What does design to manufacture mean? The short answer is that there are lots of different thoughts on this process. The one that is correct is the one that works best for your company and procedures.

Close your eyes and listen. Do you hear the sound of a 3D printer cranking out parts 100 times cheaper than molded prototypes? Open your eyes and watch. Do you see the digital quality heat map per the 3D geometric tolerances generated 100 times faster than manual inspections?

SOLIDWORKS is turning the spotlight on manufacturing. This year’s event will feature, for the first time, a 40 x 70 ft. “Shop Floor” booth, recreating a typical manufacturing environment for the production and inspection of an automotive gear shift arm. Parts will be manufactured and inspected from part designs produced in SOLIDWORKS 2018 complete with embedded Model Based Definition (MBD).

SOLIDWORKS World is fast approaching and this time it is going to be bigger than ever. If you are there on the Monday, February 5th, and you are interested in Additive Manufacturing (AM), make sure you check out the Additive Manufacturing Symposium. Building on the success of the Design for Additive Manufacturing learning path introduced at SOLIDWORKS World 2017, this year’s breakout sessions dedicated to AM are all in the same room and on the same day. This makes it even easier to get a

I created a tapped hole using the Hole Wizzard. After extracting machinable features, generating operation plan and toolpaths, I get toolpaths for center drill, drill and countersink, but no toolpath for tapping the hole. It seems like we were just at SOLIDWORKS World 2017 last week announcing the addition of SOLIDWORKS CAM as part of our Design-to-Manufacturing solution. Since then, we have been busy building and testing SOLIDWORKS CAM. As you may know, SOLIDWORKS CAM is powered by CAMWorks®, and that allowed us to start a private beta in April. We received great feedback and enhancements for the 2018 version that has been in beta since July.

I hope everyone else did not have the same problem as I had trying to install the newest CAM Beta. I had nothing but trouble for the last 2 1/2 hours trying to get it to show up in my SW 2017. I thought it had to be one of those Windows things and I am really use to Windows 7. I guess I will get use to the newest SolidWorks, Windows 10 and this SolidWorks CAM all at the same time.
