I am trying to design a pipe system with a pressure drop of less than 10 bar. The pump output pressure is 110bar, the output pressure is expected to be at least 100bar. However, when I try internal flow simulation and external flow simulation with the same boundary conditions applied, the results are totally different as shown below.
I have simulation of parabolic dish solar collector, the simulation is completed but the results not loaded. the program appeared later content of it ( solidworks is out of memory! solidworks is now terminating). How solve this problem? Actually your memory was low, you should the capacity of ram.
I am new to using SolidWorks Flow Simulation. I am trying to run a simple laminar flow over a flat plate with constant heat flux analysis. I used SDC "An Introduction to SolidWorks Flow Simulation" (Chapter 2 Flat Plate Boundary Layer) as a guide however I tried to add a constant heat flux (q" = 5e+015 W/m^2) at a certain location (Image 2 between 10 and 10.01mm) but when I run my analysis the Temperature plot that is created does not seem correct(Image 1). I believe my issue lies in defining my
porous media velocity results How does Flow Simulation calculate the average velocity on the surface of porous media? If I look at a contour or isoline plot of velocity on the surface, the result values make sense.
Hello, I'm trying to do a flow analysis on a direct fire vegetable oil heater, but I'm getting wrong results, so I'm assuming I'm missing something. As Initial condition I just increased temperature at 330F, keeping pressure at ambient.
For example: I have set a goal "mass air flow" , now from that goal i want to take the numbers/results and pull an average out of them but only for the results of the first 0.5 seconds out of the whole 2 seconds that my time dependent flow simulation lasts, and set that average as a goal so i can do otimization based on it. Is this possible by using a custom goal? Haven't used that option at all. Using sw 2016.
I am modeling an aerator with the free surface feature. I set the overall domain to water and because I don't have a fixed volume of air I set a mass flow inlet of air to a lid placed at the inlet to the aerator. The simulation and mesh start up but then fail with "Solver abnormally terminated" but with no warnings in less than 100 iterations.
I've attached the geometry that im currently using along with some results that i would like to reproduce. I'm attempting to model a supersonic jet inlet around mach 3.2. I want to find the varying mach, pressure, and temperature as it flows through the inlet.
Hello all I am currently working on a solar panel cleaning system , where in real time i need to input the Water to the solar panel surface using a pump with 6psi Pressure where the panel is at an angle of 12 degrees from the ground Plane, After giving the input The Gravity Have to do the Rest Because of inclination of the Surface in Theoretical i need to Do this using VOF model but When i am trying to Solve the Problem the Flow is not Generating As expected Can any one Have any Idea How to deal
Heated Porous Media I am trying to run a flow simulation of air traveling through a heated porous medium. I have tried using the initial temperature option with a time table to hold a constant temperature throughout the study.
Hi I am new to flow simulation, can anyone please help me with this problem? I have tried many many simulations by applying different boundary conditions but still the water does not pass through all my pipes.
Solar chimney simulation I'm currently doing a project on solar chimney and how they can be used in a house. i chose to do the simulation on solidworks but i'm having some trouble setting up the boundary conditions properly. At first i used environmental pressure at all openings but this is creating a vortex and the results doesn't appear to be good.
How to simulate the fluid going through the wick material for the lamp or some heat pipes? please advise as you can. thanks. Jive Software Version: 2016.3.9.0, revision: 20171215204634.b96715f.release_2016.3.9
I have designed a vortex filter model, now i need to get the result from simulation. will i get input flow rate v/s output flow rate chart using simulation? i have attached two files here. i cant upload the file into one since it is above 30 mb.
A 3kW heating plate was placed below an aluminum plate (initially 20C) contained in a box, where the bottom and top lids are set to atmospheric pressure allowing natural convection. However little to no heat transfer was observed during the 40 second transient flow simulation between the hot air in contact with the aluminum plate. How would I go about to fix this?
can we mix two different fluid in flow simulation? Yes, you can do fluid mixing problems in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation for up to 10 fluids in a single analysis. Here is a video showing a setup of such a problem (GoEngineer - Flow Simulation: Fluid Mixing).
I am a senior mechanical design student and am currently working on my final project. I am trying to design a system that circulates warm air within a controlled volume. The goal of the project is to create a fan based system that will distribute warm air throughout the entire controlled volume. My design consists of an aluminum casing in which the temperature inside the casing is regulated at a constant value with the use of finned heating elements.
