Purpose of use : Flow Simulation (AirFlow) If for simulation it is better to have multiple core of high clock speed. But you know this is only if we talk for simulation no other factor included like other software, cost of hardware, work to be done and etc,

I have designed an F1 mini car and I need to show the airflow and find out where the drag is the most in order to improve the car. How do I show the airflow around the car? I am using solidworks student edition 2016.

I'm currently working with Flowsimulation in order to make a simulation of air suction through a simple pipe first. To do that, I've created a box in which I put a simple tube. But I recently discovered this software and I'm not able to make it aspire IN the tube. Indeed, I try to impose an input speed to the tube (boundary condition) and the environment pressure inside the box (other one) but I can't tell the software to take the area inside the tube to make the fluid pass through it : the

And another one from Pseudo Scott (Justin), I'm running a family of simple transient thermal conduction problems in a very simple model. The deliverable is average heat flux but it's handy to have other parameters for quality control and trouble shooting.

Howdy folks, me again acting as Scott I've seen in other discussion threads where folks say that manually setting a time step in Calculation Control Options/Solving/Time Step Settings in a transient analysis is just a suggested step and that Flow actually determines it's own step. Can someone point me to where this is discussed in Flow documentation?

I'm doing a research on optimizing radiator design. I was able to create an internal coolant flow and external air flow separately. But since, radiators have internal coolant flow and external air flow, I need to simulate them both at the same time. I'm using SolidWorks 2015.

Flowrate calculation error right now, I am running an internal FlowSim-Simulation, where the air circulates inside a bunch of parallel pipes and then coming back to the fan. I like to have the total flowrate through the fan and all the single flowrates inside the parallel pipes.

Alright, so we have a splitter box with a single inlet that comes in the top of the box, and two outlets coming out of the box. These orifices are separated by a weir, in which the fluid flow underneath one guide, and then over the next.

I have a model which is a quit complex building of pipes, which are in parallel and in serial and in additional with some flow resistance (ellbows and so on). At the end I have a outlet-lit, which represents a fan. Now I like to get the pressure drop at this lit, so I can choose the proper fan in reality.

Im looking for some help for add a new fluid in the engineering database, i had attempted this a few times but it doesnt seems to work, i want to add ISO VG 68 oil and is hard to find the proper parameters, am using this in a heat exchanger study and the thermal propeties are important. Any help would be nice. You say it is "hard to find the proper parameters".

piping flow simulation Good evening, for my master final graduation project in a desalination station, I wish to make a water simulation on a long piping, which exceeds a hundred meters with elbows of 90 °, the entrance comprises 4 pumps Which give in the 12 bars, which come together in a collector and that goes up to the RO part, I wanted to know a little the behavior of the water in the piping and if there is a loss of pressure through the singularities , Is it possible to treat a long

I am trying to import my results from simulation into flow simulation. Is this possible? Basically, I have a temperate gradient that I am finding from my simulation and need to apply that into my flow simulation setup. I am trying to simulate a truck coming to a complete stop (braking has caused heat generation) and then air flowing over the brake drum to see how fast it will cool the drum.

Can we solve two different fluids flowing from same inlet at two different mass flow rate. If yes please help me with set up or and work around for these kind of mixing problems. I am not able to define the Fluid sub domain at inlet lid.

I need to do some transient fluid flow simulations of a component for my master thesis and currently I'm stuck with an issue. For my project I have to run simulations of some seconds, and I need no less than 0.1s for my time step. The issue is that when I run the simulation the time step appears as you can see on the image below. Time steps of about 5E10^-5, wich result in calculation times of about 30h+.

Mesh Sanity Check? I've been off the Simulation horse for a few years and am getting back on with a very simple analysis. We are using FLOW to look at heat flow through a very cold chunk of ice that, for the purposes of the model domain, I've modeled as a 1/4 cylinder with symmetry conditions on the XY and ZY faces.

i am running an external air flow with conjugate heat transfer thru my 3-component model. From what I learned thru Trimech distributor's tech support, SW2016 Flow Sim only allows for 3d solid, 1/4 symmetry modeling of my problem. This limited capability yields 100k+ cell count models & long run times on my desktop 2-processor, 12-core computer with auto-time stepping enabled (on the order of 2e-07s).

I'm running a flow analysis of a filter that has several porous media components. The models fine, but now I'm trying to determine the run time distribution (RTD). With a lot of effort in excel I can calculate the RTD using Flow Trajectories, but the Particle Tracking option would be more straight forward. When I try to inject the particles, they seem to get blocked at the first porous media.

first of all thank you for your passion about SW. Until now I could solve all my problems by reading previous threads, but now I have to ask something myself: I am trying to simulate an injection-process for four cavitys + runner system, but the simulation always finishes before even the first cavity is fully filled.
