SW2017 Windows 7 X64 , Worked yesterday, only thing that changed is restore default file associations.

Until today , if i selected less than about 10 drawings in windows explorer , i could click print at the Top and they would print, now the print button doesn't show up at all for SLDDRW's even if i only select one.

I did restore default file associations from the file explorer section of solidworks settings, but i wouldn't think that would cause this, but it's the only thing that changed.

This is a clean install of solidworks on a brand new MSI Mobile Workstation.

Re: Why cant i Print SLDDRW's From windows explorer?

So, now that you have restored default file associations, run a little test:

Close Solidworks, then navigate to one of those drawings that you wanted to print and just double click it.  What program does it try to open it in?

If it is NOT Solidworks AND the version that you originally made it in, then your file association has changed.   I believe that your file association for that type of file needs to be correct for it to print.

Re: Why cant i Print SLDDRW's From windows explorer?

Yes, It does open in Solidworks 2017, Although the drawing was most likely created in an older version ( Updated on Save ) , however it doesn't appear to matter whether it's a new drawing , or an old one.

I was able to restore functionality by un-installing and re-installing solidworks , but i don't understand why restoring solidworks file associations would cause that.

Do you have more than 1 version of Solidworks installed at the same time?

Re: Why cant i Print SLDDRW's From windows explorer?

Not on this PC, But we had an electrical engineer who was still using 2016 until yesterday, And he still has 15 and 16 on his PC. Unless there's been a change to some part of any given assembly the Models haven't been updated since they were originally drawn in Solidworks any time from 2009 to Present. So i probably have SW files in every version along the way somewhere on the network.
