Is there any way to 'dimension' a surface area and have theoption of choosing the unit notation? I don't want to overlook anavailable tool by jumping into a custom macro or equation. As an example, we use Feet & Inches by default, but would liketo report surface area in sq.ft. for purchasing. I'd like the surface area to be assigned to a custom property.
I am looking for a feature that allows me to do the oppositeof knit surface. I want to take a knitted surface body or a solid body, and explodeits faces into separate surfaces for me to work with.SolidworksSurfacing
This should be an interesting-need someone who has experiencewith surface modeling. I have created the general shape of a fishmouth and need to create gills down the side. See attached file.Any pointers are helpful!SolidworksSurfacing
I have a scanned surface model of a stone like texture. WhatI'm trying to do is use that as a tool to wrap onto a somewhatconical shape. Or.... could I use a deform tool or tool body of my conical shapeto shape the surface ? Any help would much appreciated.
I am starting to do more surfacing in my models (medicaldesign) and I was wondering what is an acceptable deviation betweenfaces for injection molded plastic parts? Thanks, AdamSolidworksSurfacing
http://www.solidsmack.com/design-news/t-splines-for-solidworks-advanced-surfacing-power-is-here/ I will report back here with more info; whatever I learn next week at SW World. SolidworksSurfacing
Is now available here: Advanced Surfacing – SWW2011 by Charles Culp Officially titled Applications of Advanced Surface and Solid Modeling Techniques, it contains very little solid modeling. Enjoy. SolidworksSurfacing
I have posted my SolidWorks World presentation from SolidWorks World: Surfacing, Where Do I Even Start? Hopefully SolidWorks will post the official videos soon, I think this one might be best with the audio track to go along with it. SolidworksSurfacing
Way Cool. This was designed with SolidWorks surfacing. Aero Improvements Give Big Rigs Bigger MPG Jeremy Singley gave a great presentation at SolidWorks World 2011 about splines (check it out!). Here is his aerodynamic Big Rig, featured in Wired.com. SolidworksSurfacing
Look what the cat dragged in... http://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/en_us/products/open/d-cubed/product_news/2ddcm_version59.shtml Could this yield something in the future for the SolidWorks user? SolidworksSurfacing
Bad News Bears. http://news.autodesk.com/news/autodesk/20111222005259/en/Autodesk-Acquires-T-Splines-Modeling-Technology-Assets I am very disappointed to hear this. We were set to purchase tsElements + T-Splines in January. Now I'm not seeing this as a good business move. SolidworksSurfacing
Hi, is somebody sees why extending Surface-Offset B is possible, when trying to do the same with Surface-Offset H is not ? Tx for your lighting. SolidworksSurfacing
This is encouraging, it would be very handy to have an option for G2 with edge blends. Face blends to achieve this is just a hassle! http://www.tenlinks.com/news/PR/siemens_plm/100213_parasolid.htm SolidworksSurfacing
It has come to my attention that Mark has left SolidWorks. I advice we don't turn this into a guessing game of "why" but simply wish him the best in his future endeavours! It goes without saying that he will be missed in the SolidWorks community. Mark, maybe you'll swing by every now and then? SolidworksSurfacing
I'm not quite sure what direction to go to complete this model the problem is this variable radius transitions that make the geometry diffucult to create. I'm close but need a little help. I may need to do some surfacing to finish it. Unfinished model attached along with dwg and jpegs of the cast part.
Hi everyone! I'm Romain, new to this forum I would like to introduce you this SolidWorks tutorial I made. It aims at modeling an Aston Martin One-77. You can find it here : http://www.solidworks-aston-martin-one77.com/ This car tutorial is complete, available as PDF, you only need to know the basics of SolidWorks.
