This is a based-transient analysis, but it could also be solved based on parameter-driven methods. I would like to have a flow through a chamber that has two outlets. One outlet vents to the atmosphere.

Ever since the system got upgrade to 2017, the flow simulation never worked properly. Always crashes. c). do flow volume check, sometimes showed volume, sometimes showed no volume, although nothing is changed

I'm pretty new to flowsim and currently having many problems regarding all kinds of errors. Geometry check is fine in the model below, though there is some threads interference (screws and nuts). The face of boundary error is blue highlighted in the image (inlet flow). What can possibly go wrong and how can I address it?

Hello everyone, my name is Marco, I'm a Mechanical Engineer to be and I'm currently working on a ball valve project. This valve works with water so I'm verifying the cavitation model and here occurs my problem: I'm running a simulation and at 1000 iterations (0.125 travel) it doesn't cavitate yet, even though there's a strong deltaP between inlet and outlet and I'm sure it has to cavitate. I know it is not a whole travel, but with all the other cavitation projects I did, the phenomenon started

Gravity Gradient- Flow Simulation I was wondering if it is possible to create a formula for gravity in the Flow Simulation dependent on X,Y, and/or Z. I know that you can have gravity change over time, but I would like to have a gradient of gravity applied to my model. This is flow model is almost completely driven by centrifugation and a few flows, so having the gradient is important for this model.

I have a flow simulation completed and am trying to estimate what overall heat transfer coefficient flow sim is giving me for a finned surface. Unfortunately, I do not have a surface that has the correct cross-sectional area that I want to base my U on. (I tried adding a part that is just a surface to the assembly, but the surface plot failed - probably because the surface wasn't defined before the simulation was run.) So, I created a patterned point-parameter table w/100 points which I then

I've added a real wall with a simple constant temperature condition away from the heated plate. Running it as an external problem, with gravity enabled and time dependency disabled.

I'm looking for some some help interpreting my results and making sure they are correct. I'm running a flow simulation where my volumetric flow rate in is 1 L/min and my exit is a pressure opening at 0.5 MPa. The fluid is flowing through a tight, rectangular restriction of 0.005 mm height and 72 mm width. I'm using a local mesh with equidistant with a 0.05mm offset distance and checking for mesh convergence by increasing the refinement level.

I've been running flow simulations lately so I have a lot of files created by these simulations. I made a list of all the file types that I have littering the PDM (but not checked in) on my computer. I have many GB of data from old simulations that I need to either check in or delete and I'm looking for information on what each file type is. If I only want the ability to rerun the simulation later what file types do I need to check in?

Why Soldiwork Flow 2015 solve too slow at 29% CPU(12core), 27/56 GB Ram with 7929089 fluid cells, 4026792 Partial cells? Older versions of Flow Simulation utilize multiple cores for solving at a lower efficiency than newer releases. This is due to the overhead of having to split the calculation into several pieces to then pass out to each threads of the CPU.

Wrong results I simulate the heating of a steel brick with a side dimensions of 5x5x7mm.I heat one side (3558K).But the opposite side remains completely cold (293.2K).In my opinion, this is unrealistic. What am I doing wrong?

To report back, the issue has been solved and Response Surface Viewer works again on my SW2018 SP4.0. " After investigation, this issue is due to the SW installer. The program “CqmViewer.exe” is absent in the “C:Program FilesSOLIDWORKS CorpSOLIDWORKS Flow SimulationbinCFW” folder after installation."

After setting, computational domain, mesh, Goals, etc and save them I run the part that is open. Then I want to open another part and run it with the same settings Under the Projects Tree, you can right click on the simulation you want to clone, and then click clone, and then choose which configuration you want to clone the simulation to.

I haven't used flow simulation in about two years, but it seems the latest iteration that I am using (2017) no longer allows for exporting the results mesh data to excel? I used to be able to export based on fluid cells, partial/solid cells, but either I can't remember how I did that previously, or the functionality no longer exists (which would be a real bummer). Now it seems I am only able to export the mesh data to a text file which does not export well to excel (columns get all messed up).

I was able to simulate both input fans (using conditions at the input speed limits) but could not simulate the air outlet (I tried using conditions at the air outlet limits), flow simulation asks me to add a condition to the limits for gold pressure I have no openings other than fans First please tell your teacher that it is ridiculous to plow into a project (using any software) with out getting some fundamental training on the software and basic physics of what is going on.

I am trouble getting any turbulent flow trajectories in a model of water flow through a cylindrical tube, with an inlet volume/pipe diameter that gives a Reynolds number that should easily be in the turbulent range. I selected "turbulent only" in the simulation wizard. Yet, when visualizing the flow trajectories for velocity, I only see what appear to be laminar flows (in straight lines parallel to the long cylinder axis). This happens regardless of whether I model the inner pipe surface as a

Hi I am trying to validate Solidworks Flow simulation using this tutorialhttp://www.webpages.uidaho.edu/mindworks/Adv%20Solidworks/CFD/Drag%20coefficient%20of%20sphere%20-%20Final.pdfI seem to get reasonable values for Cd for Re 10 but for Re 10,000 the Cd value seems quite off 0.17 (solidworks) instead of about 0.4 (theory). Any help with trouble shooting this to get the correct value would be much appreciated. I have attached the model I did in the post.
