Hi, I don't understand why the running simulation returns a "Thickness is not defined for one or more shelles", since all my shells aren't with a null thickness. And, btw, when i go out of simulX, all the surfaces of the modell are turning from hide to show, and it's....saying ..... a little boring. SolidworksSimulation
Hi, I need a help in simulating a part (see the attachment). Here the part is only one half. Its fixed at the bottom and from the top another part is pressed until it sits in the slot. So in this process the upper portion deflects.
hello, from what i understand, when the plot is horizontal for displacement, this means the results have converged. im not too sure how normalized value is calculated, is the formula available somewhere so i can understand what it means? As i do more and more loops, target acuracy gets lower, im assumming, this means it is getting more and more acurate, right? thanks SolidworksSimulation

If you are interested in carrying out topology optimization from within Solidworks, check out the new software PareTOWorks Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwCCMKP8McQ You can download software and instructions from http://www.sciartsoft.com/Products.html SolidworksSimulation
Dassault Systemes has acquired SIMPOE, the company that writes the code which SolidWorks Plastics is based on: solidworkseducation.blogspot.it/2013/05/dassault-systemes-acquisisce-simpoe.html?m=0 Cheers, Alex SolidworksSimulation
Since installing SW2014, when I run a simulation, the Solving progress bar hits 100% after only a few minutes but if I expand the task pane the subtasks progress bar is still running through iterations and stiffness matrices. Anyone know if this is a bug or intended behaviour? Seems pointless to show incorrect overall progress. SolidworksSimulation
This error came up on 2015 after adding a shell to model with only beams and forgetting to apply a material to the shell. The error was fixed after updating components and applying a material to the shell. Simulation didn't give the no material applied error. Not a question, just something to help others that get this error. SolidworksSimulation
I need to calculate stress snd strenght at weldments with FEM. Now I know I need to purchase the tool " Simulation Professional" in addition to my SolidWorks Premium. SolidworksSimulation
I need to create an effective model of a space frame for a arched roof type structure. I also need a model to illustrate the concept and make presentations. I would like to limit the time investment for a structure with hundreds of members. SolidworksSimulation
"...You may need to rerun (I did that a bunch of times) or copy the correct result files to working directory and reopen the document." What does this actually mean I should do? I ust trying this out for 1st time and getting nowhere...:( BTW, the edit feature on this posting site does not work well at all...(third try to get corrected text in place ....) SolidworksSimulation
hi , i have solidworks professional ,please i nead to active solid works simulation no simulation xpress . what i will do for that ? when I can change solidworks language english to french? SolidworksSimulation
Hi all, I have released the book on 2016 version of SolidWorks Simulation. I have tried to address common doubts in working with SolidWorks Simulation inside my book. I hope you will find the book helpful. The link is next. http://www.amazon.com/SolidWorks-Simulation-2016-Black-Book/dp/1523393742 SolidworksSimulation
In "Defining Fatigue Events" The last row of the table should be "Standing-200" not "Standing-100", otherwise, you will not get the same results of the tutorial. SolidworksSimulation
The sequel to my viral video from last year on the differential in motion, I now present a remake of Destin's video from Smarter Every Day, with a hint of Mythbusters tribute thrown in. [url]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OP636oDSXY[
What will be the shell thickness for a solid shaft in simulation? I am running a edge weld simulation between a solid shaft(44.45mm) and a hollow shaft? I am defining the solid shaft as a shell. But having trouble about the shell thickness.
The two types of materials are Grapes and pieces of wood. My project revolves around taking out debris from grapes for a winery's flow process, i want to simulate different screen/mesh patterns but want to know if this is even possible with Solidworks, if not are there any other programs out there i should consider. SolidworksSimulation
I had installed the Solidworks with simulation professional license and I had enabled the Simulation addin but when I tried to select the New study in the addin i'm not able to select "Its showing like a Hidden option ". I had also tried that KB3072630 but it also not working. SolidworksSimulation
I have a microelectronics problem that requires up to 2300 power sources on a surface. Is there a limit to the number of surface sources in Simulation FEM? SolidworksSimulation
I'm doing an analysis a support component which will hold an antenna that weights about 5 lb. I see an option for remote load and also an option for a remote mass. What's the difference between the two, and in what situations would each be applied? Thanks! SolidworksSimulation
Dear All, Is anybody knows what is the meaning of error "DSTAR has stopped working" while solving the frequency study in SolidWorks 2015? Is there any way of fixing this error? SolidworksSimulation
Hi I try to simulate wire spool analysis to find displacement when the cable is wrapped. I attached images to better understand. The force should be big towards the outside of the surface. I have 2 questions.
20 years ago, I saw engineering FEA guy always put a note for responsibility waiver, such as "Do not accept or reject a design based solely on the data presented in this report", etc. 10 years ago, I saw it, engineering guy thought it is okay. At present, the FEA report I review, the similar note are still there. what is your opinion? SolidworksSimulation
