Sw will not save my model to step, I get error message"Inconsistent spline curve" which I have ruled as being part of themodel that I was sent this morning from my fiberglass people and Iopened from a step file then saved the necessary peices to mymachine model in sw parts.... Anyone know what I should do??
I created a smart component without any problems and now Iwant to add more parts to it. I try to insert a component in thedefining assembly and nothing happens, it won't drop in theassembly! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks John G.SolidworksAssemblies

When inserting parts into an assembly, I sometime find itwould be easier if I had used a different origin point or referenceplane. Is there an easy way to cange the reference point at theassembly time or do I have to go back to the individualpart.SolidworksParts And Features
I have often wondered how to eval the performance of modelsto be used in an assembly. I think this is a more difficult topicthan just a simple review. Basically if I tell someone that a modelis too complex and needs to be simplified how is a user to tell ifthey are going in the right direction There are tools that I can think of 1. filesize - may have some indication of open time, but alsoincreases with configurations and other tricks that actuallysimplify 2. feature statistics - really only

hello, i am having an issue loading a cable route that icreated in to pdmworks. i created a cable with a bend in it thatgets bent at assembly. in the same cable route, i created anotherroute using the same sketch profile except instead of a bend i madeit straight. that way the drawing will show it straight to get madeand put on the shelf. then the bent profile is on my assemblyshowing howto bend at assembly. so, my issue is that after creating the two routs in the same fileit will not load into
We have an issue here that I have not seen mentioned, and amposting to see if anyone else has had this problem, or knows of afix. We have to save our assemblies and parts as STEP files to send tovarious vendors. What is happening, is that when the assembly isopened, it has lost all association with the parts, and when youfind the part to reassociate it with the assembly, we get aninternal ID error message. What do we need to be doing differently so they will opencorrectly?
I am having problems with SW09 SP 2.1. After saving it should remove the gray background in the thumbnailpreview in explorer but this is not working. The first part Iconverted to SW09 cleared the gray background in the preview andnow it is not doing this on any other parts or assemblies. I actually changed a dimension and saved then changed it back so Idid have a part change but it will not remove the grayedbackground. SolidworksGeneral

Hello, I am having trouble with SolidWorks finding the template filelocations in a computer lab that has been ghost imaged. I have the the ghost administrative master it is set up to (whatseem to be the new) default locations (C:\documents andsettings\all users\application data\solidworks\. . .). However, after ghosting, the different users get differentdifferent locations. Some are getting the old location pre-2008(c:\program files\solidworks\data\templates .. .) and some are justplain
I'm wondering how many people actually use the fillet bead command and actually configure those features so that the "As Machined" and "As Welded" configurations relate to the real world. I find the fillet bead command extremely limited - it can only be applied to between two faces that are at right angles. What if I wanted to display a weld bead in my drawing that is between two surfaces that are tangent (see pic for example)? During previous projects I have not used this command and I insert

Howdy, I recently got my hands on a copy of SW2009 (liking it so far :D ).So I wanted to try to update my method for accessing the WindowsRegistry. I can tell that I need to add the reference to theVBATools library which contains the RegistryTools class, but, can'tseem to figure out the syntax for using the listed functions(CreateSectionKey, ReadKey, WriteKey, etc.). I've attached an example of the existing method that requires themodule written by Kenneth Ives. It still seems to work fine, but,
We are a new company still setting up Standards and Procedures. We had been doing our weldments like assemblies to begin with because OUr SW dealer didn't sell us on weldments because they talked about it like structural members etc. and we are a heavy equipment manufacturer and our weldment consist of Heavy plates etc....very little structural members. We subcontracted some work out and this guy suggested that we use weldments functionality to deal with our "weldment" We bought what he was
