Hey, FEA wizards, etc I've been doing FEA for quite some time-- using iso clippings... As a rule of thumb, when I do look at Iso Clippings, I generally ignore any stress elements that take up less than 0.02% geometric volume of the model (or less than 0.10% element "volume"). I don't have any technical understanding of this, however, because it's something I took at face value many moons ago. As you may know, sometimes a sim (simulation) can give you wild (or at least "loose") max stress values,

Hey Everyone, Had to fight through this issue for a couple of weeks so wanted to post it here in case anyone else starts seeing it soon. Microsoft posted a security article recommending disabling NTLM authentication by default on servers (Network Security: Restrict NTLM: Outgoing NTLM traffic to remote servers ) that we rolled out which broke our ability to attach vault views, create new vaults or view the archive server log. It can be corrected by adding an exception for ConisioAuth.

I noticed in the SW 2016 there was a drag and drop option for piping as well as electrical and tubing now only tubing has a drag and drop option and it just seems odd to me that they layout change has eliminated the drag and drop option for piping. also it shows "edit wires" on the far left of every tab. and in the piping tab the "auto route" feature is missing by default I know these can be customized but it just seems silly to me. Anyone else think so or is it just me. Feels like its lacking

I skipped 2016 entirely because of the UI colors. By the time SW finally got enough colors back to make it interesting, 2017 was out. Like most, I don't make it a habit of upgrading until SP3 or beyond so I was quite nervous about jumping on 2017 SP0. So far it's been really nice though.

Hey Guys, I'm trying to cut the space out between two teeth with the cut-sweep function. To specify a helix angle, you choose "Specify Profile Twist" and enter the value you need for your helix angle. This works but it leaves a panel above the cut and whenever this happens, it is unable to perform the "circular pattern" function to cut the rest of the teeth. How can I get rid of this panel and perform the circular pattern function?

Here is the link if you already have A-01 version in your computer then no need to uninstall the addin The new B-01 installer will un-register the A-01 and register the B-01 into your computer. Hi All Like most of you, I use SW orientation tool to manipulate 3D model on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great tool and I like the way it looks; however, the View Orientation Cube’s user interface (UI) is not truly single point-and-click interface without a help (holding down) of ctrl or Alt

It's bit of a pain when trying to order the hole tags in desirable order So I did a little research and found an article giving a solution to this issue. Ordering Holes in a Hole Table It's not perfect but gives you some level of control. Hope to be helpful for you. SolidworksDrawings And Detailing

So I think I have refined a model for an: “Involute Helical Gear Generator - xxxxxxxxxxx.SLDPRT” Or, as attached and have set Global Variables for: CW Rotation, 20 Teeth, 30 Deg Helix Angle, 20 Deg Pressure Angle “Involute Helical Gear Generator - CW 20T 30 Deg 20 PA.SLDPRT” . Involute Helical Gear Generator - CW 20T 30 Deg 20 PA --- Equations "DiametralPitch"=.87805 "NumTeeth"=20 "PressureAngle"=20 "GearThickness"=10mm "HelixAngle"=30deg "ROTATION"="CLOCKWISE" . After changing the above values

I recently discovered that if you insert a BOM in a SW2017 Drawing, drawing views of the components in the BOM inserted afterwards will automatically be linked to it. People have been asking for something like this for a long time, so it's a great enhancement, but somehow it didn't make it into the "What's New" document (or at least if it did I can't find it). did some further checking and discovered that this only works if there's only one table in the Drawing (no other BOM's or cut lists), but

For the last few years, some of our computers would not print when the Print Task was executed. The oddest part about it would be, after an update, some computers would be begin to be able to execute the Print Task and others would stop. After some serious digging this week, the root cause was found and solved! The printer selection is case sensitive;
