CFHT Observatory CFHT Observatory The only way for astronomers to collect data is by gathering the light of the cosmos. To do that on Earth, they need massive ground-based telescopes. The summit of Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano that makes up almost a quarter of Hawaii’s Big Island, has stellar star-gazing conditions, and it is dotted with the twelve Mauna Kea Observatories. Among them is the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT), an observatory partially facilitated by the University of Hawaii.

Fruit flies are one of the keys for biologists to unlock the secrets behind human genetics, as well as understanding disease, behavior, neuroscience and more. For more than 100 years, scientists have used Drosophila as a model organism to learn about genes, disease, behavior, neuroscience, and more. But in the course of their work, there is a great deal of tedious, manual labor required to classify and sort each fly by physical characteristics such as sex and eye color. FlySorter LLC provides
