I am trying to add a part into the tool box in which the user could add/find a part from a family. The part is a Backup ring to O-rings and is a glorified washer. The part has the same cross section, thickness and width, the only dimension that changes is the OD. I want to build a part and add it into the tool box so that you can just type in the OD and the part auto generates/ is found.

I have a problem with my toolbox, I mean I can't see any ofstandardized elements. I have such a problem since I have installed my solidworks on new computer. First thing that I have done is "add in now" in toolbox options but after that I got this:

As soon as i drag any part from toolbox-ansi metric, a message pops up saying the part is not available for write access. After clicking open read only the part just opens without any options for modifications. I need to make a custom part using toolbox but can't because of the error.

If I'm opening an assembly from another colleague, all the parts from the toolbox are displayed incorrectly (mostly too large). Attached you will find a picture.toolbox_issue.JPG

It went onto a new machine before we installed SolidWorks. As a result, SolidWorks wouldn't run or open macros and all our mousehover tool tips wouldn't show. Removing the update and then reinstalling SolidWorks fixed the issue.

Cannot find Standards database Venkateswaran RajappaDec 8, 2009 12:20 AM(in response to John Sutherland) I employed Windows puppy search to find all instances of SWbrowser.mdb, then tried keying the folder name into System Options>HoleWizard/Toolbox. Whichever location I key in brings the SW error "Can't find Standards database".

Hello, I recently saved a copy of a screw from the toolbox as a different part with a new name in a different folder, I had to do this because I couldn't find the exact screw I needed so I modified some measurements and added specific configurations to this copied part. When I add that new part to an assembly everything seems fine, then I save the assembly and before opening it again I check that it references the screw that i just created, everything ok so far. But when it opens the assembly it

Just started using toolbox as an experiment to see if we will use it as a standard in our company. I'd like to add a weight to the toolbox parts. I see how to add it as a custom property so I get a blank column in the table. Not sure how to add the mass to populate the column.

This gear was placed from toolbox and shaft was added later. I wanted to change the color of the entire body. But only shaft was changing the color not the gear. How to fix this problem?

We tried Toolbox in the past and got away from it, but now we are going to test it out again. I want to try it with the option to create parts rather than configurations and also want to try the option to allow duplicate part numbers for geometrically equal components, but these options are greyed out on the settings screen. How do we change these options? Starting over from scratch is probably ok for us, but I would mainly just like to fix these settings.

right click on the sketch and click the edit sketch plane button then click the plane you want it on. that will MOVE the sketch to the new plane. and yes you can edit the sketch after that is done. alternately you can copy and paste the sketch entites from one sketch to the other. select the sketch entities while editing the sketch, CTRL+C. then go to new sketch and CTRL+V. and yes you can edit afterwards.

I just updated from the 2017-2018 version because I saw something about SolidWorks had a structural steel toolbox and I wanted to try that out. But I cannot seem to find it. Just wondered if it was not available in the academic version.

Would someone share with me their customized Tool Box Data (English Standard, non-metric) that has the normally unused fasteners removed. Re: Tool Box Data, normal un-used fasteners removed.

I have copied a Toolbox fastener folder and renamed it etc. I then added custom properties, additional lengths and sizes. I got through all that ok. Now I'm testing it and for some reason, the shaded cosmetic threads appear differently in my custom toolbox than they do in the default toolbox that I copied mine from.

Update Solidworks installation from 2018 to 2019, before the update i copied the toolbox folder from network to my machine, them i specified the path of toolbox during installation, and updated without errors or warnings. Darrell ConleyNov 29, 2018 10:06 AM(in response to Fernando Rodrigues Gonçalez) I'm having the same issue as well. Am thinking about re-setting the toolbox database file and seeing if that helps.

A lot of the standard weldment profiles that are shipped with SolidWorks were obviously made from taking the toolbox structural member shapes and saving out their sketch as a library feature part. Unfortunately, they didn't clear the toolbox flag when they did it so these files still read as toolbox parts. When you take your library and save it into a PDM vault (standard or professional) you get errors that you have toolbox parts in a non toolbox folder. The obvious fix is to run the

This is an issue I have constantly and am looking for ways to fix it. If I use Toolbox parts in an assembly, and then later move the assembly to another folder or use pack-and-go, often the sizes of those parts will magically change, forcing me to remove them all and replace them. I know I can save the toolbox part under a new name somewhere then use sldsetdocprop to remove the toolbox link, but there must be a simpler, quicker way to do this. I don't mind keeping the link to the toolbox, just
