In placing nameplates for devices on a panel enclosure layout, is there a way to set up the part to automatically generate a separate symbol on the page with the detail of what is on the nameplate? I'm thinking of some kind of attribute for the main part. Can I create custom attributes to use on a part?

Every time I search for a manufacturer part or cable reference, the search tool already has filters in it that I don't need (i.e. the seach tool already has the class "Connectors" specified, the cable references search tool already specifies "size standard" as mm^2 which is a real problem since we only use AWG). I have to click "remove filters" for every single search I make. Over time, this has costed me hours of extra button pressing.

I'm a user of PowerMill, and I'm trying to use SolidWorks CAM. SolidWorks CAM has different concep with PowerMill, so I'm little bit confused. I tried to make finishing tool-paths for the smooth curved surfaces, but I didn't know how to do.

I'm trying to use pipe routing on SW18 with some very large pipes (700NB), first of all I can't find a pipe this big in the standard library, secondly when I try and drag and drop the next best flange (24') onto my model I get an error message saying 'Please specify valid routing component(s) to start the route', if I use a smaller flange there is no problem. Can anyone suggest a reason and a solution to this problem? cheers.

Anyone have any experience using Solidworks CAM 2018 to post process to an older Haas VF0 and an older Haas Mini Mill controller? I see an option for a Haas VF3, but not the machines that we have. We just got these machines from a company acquisition and I have been out of the CNC game for some time, so I am trying to see what it would take to get these up and running quickly (is in if I need to purchase a standalone CAM package or something else).

I think the question is pretty straightforward. I'd like to add balloons and callouts on an Electrical BOM into which I have pasted a screenshot of the model.

I am using SolidWorks Electrical for the first time and am having trouble finding a catalog with MIL spec cables and wires. Could anyone point me in the direction of one? I am hoping to build up my library so I don't have to create these wires/cables every time.

I noticed that solidworks leave a small route (like 0,001mm) when you try to add a fitting direclty on a fitting. Does SW allow having no pipe part between fittings or does it have to be something in between (some small gap)? And by that I mean having Cpoint directly on another Cpoint.
