Begin by doing a Countersunk hole and then customize it to match your Center Drill, it may take some playing around, but doesn't take too long to master. Have used @Michael Closson's designs and updated them to configurable library features of all center drill sizes.

For a project we are busy designing a rotary block in which products are rotated 180 degrees. We started with 3D printing of this, but we encounter a design problem that we can not solve yet. To rotate the product with as little resistance and lifting as possible, we need the rotate curve to be as level as possible.

selecting edges through solids In shaded view, I can zoom into a small solid body face in a large assembly and try to select said surface, however, there are so many edges behind the solid that solidworks insists on selecting rather than the face i see, it makes it impossible to select the face without hiding everything behind it. i don't want this anymore. if i cant see something on my screen i sure don't want to select it, especially over a solid object that im clearly clicking on. is there a

I would like the pasted feature to be in the same position as it was in the model I copied it from. Even when I select the correct plane or surface - invariably the feature will come in backwards or flopped. I've tried starting the new sketch at or near where the original sketch was started (in relation to the Origin and on the same plane). Could someone suggest where I may be making an error.

3D printer has printed a part like this. What is the reason? 1stscreenshot shows model is in the file & Model wall thick is 1 mm and printer nozzle diameter is 0.5 mm.

I put the nuts in the assy with the pattern-driven component using the holes created with a hole-wizard (part-level) Do it as an assembly. Make your part and put the first hole in and then put the rest of the holes in using a pattern (any kind of pattern will work).

Hey all, I've been trying to get better with loft feature and trying to model different designs of swords or blades seemed to me like a good way to practice it since most of them can be thought as several profiles lofted into each other. Anyway the one i modelled one last night, it seemed a bit thick for my taste so i wanted to lower the thickness and since my main purpose here is to practice, i started from scratch.

It is important that the XY plane maintains the cross section drawn in sketch 1. The XZ cross section also needs to remain rounded, cannot be stretched in the X axis, but can be stretched in the Z direction as needed. Hi, sorry for my vague wording!

I'm thinking the solution may be in System Options..... Check Enable spline tangency and curvature handles. Works for me.

You could try sweeping along an equation driven curve similar to one of the exercises in the SOLIDWORKS Advanced class. Check out the attached file and review the features and sketches to give you one idea on how you might approach this part. use the analytical wrap (you will need to make your cylinder taller, and remove the tangent relation in your sketch).

This challenge could possibly be the simplest ever, since this topic has been debated before on this forum, so a solution might already be available. A video describing this challenge has been attached to this post and can also be found here:SWPUC 21 Challenge: How to Model the Most Accurate Barrel Cam - YouTube
