The task is to simulate the thermal situation of an industrial camera with flow simulation 2018. At the moment I´m not really sure if i need radiation in my simulation. In most of the turorial they say if the temperature is not realy high I can ignore the radiation. My first simple calculation and simulations are showing someting different.

Thank youJanko Stellaard, This seems like a good idea! I tried to do that, but I can't find where to define the time period. I defined the wind speed to change in X and Y direction using a 3d vector with time dependency, so that it should go 360 second for 360 degrees but the analysis keeps ending after 0.4 seconds.

I am trying to simulate an industrial factory with heat sources however i cannot get the correct results. I keep on receiving ridiculous values from the solver. My input is 38.9 degrees into the roller shutter, thats my boundary condition.

I have a need to simulate a heating element inside of an airtight enclosure. The objective is to measure the internal air temperature at a certain location after a certain time. As far as I understand, the thermal study tool in simulation professional does not allow a user to do this sort of measurement.

I'm doing a simple Flow Simulation of a rotating fan propeller. So I set up my rotating reference frame (Averaging) and define an angular velocity. It's an internal analysis so I define the computational domain, the environmental pressure, the outlet static pressure as well as an Inlet air velocity.

I have been using SW Flow for about 3 months for my thesis. I am wondering if there is a way to input residual value like other softwares e.g ANSYS for convergence using for validation. You can't input a dimensionless numerical residual, but we can stillmanuallyoverride the convergence tolerance using the convergence criteriavalueorpercentagewhich is effectively the same thing.

As the title states I'm having problems generating flow trajectories for my end plate design. Earlier versions of the end plate did not give me any problems, however, I've modified them and increased their complexity. Now, whenever I try to include their surfaces in generating the flow trajectories Solidworks either refuses or just plain crashes on me. This is an awful shame because I am specifically trying to analyze the new area I have added to them.

Hi. I have an electronic enclosure that is cooled by natural convection. I ran simulations to calculate the temperatures in the enclosure. I wanted to see what the effect of the box being in low pressure so I added the vent holes to my model and set aboundary conditionon vent holes (actually on the lids for the holes), to75993.75 Pa, after running the pressure on the surface is between 759993.55 Pa and 75993.65Pa, I realize this is a minuscule difference and within error of the program, BUT

Simulating Airflow through Condenser fins I am trying to simulate airflow through a large amount of condenser fins and observe the velocity profile through the fins. How should I go about doing this. there are 21fins/in on a 36in condenser forming a G shape with a center fan.

Hi guys i am new to solidworks Flow simulation, I am performing natural convection, transient simulation in a closed enclosure, i understand that the progress bar shows the percentage of convergence happened, but in my case the solver has run 600 iterations but still my progress Barr is empty and no percentage and criterion is displayed. I have two heat source in closed enclosure, one volumetric and other surface heat source. i have made goals for both Maximum for Temperature.
