Hi I am trying to validate Solidworks Flow simulation using this tutorialhttp://www.webpages.uidaho.edu/mindworks/Adv%20Solidworks/CFD/Drag%20coefficient%20of%20sphere%20-%20Final.pdfI seem to get reasonable values for Cd for Re 10 but for Re 10,000 the Cd value seems quite off 0.17 (solidworks) instead of about 0.4 (theory). Any help with trouble shooting this to get the correct value would be much appreciated. I have attached the model I did in the post.

Wind Tunnel Flow Simulation I've created a wind tunnel for a school project in SW and am trying to run a flow simulation to test the maximum achievable wind speed within the test section. I know the motor our group is going to use but can't find anything close to the size I need in the available axial fans section of SW.

Currently I am doing some flow simulation on a cylinder head for my final year engineering degree project. One issue I am having is max flow rate (volume flow). I can only find mass flow rate as a goal, I need Volume flow rate so I can compare to a real life model and see what the computer says in comparison with the flow bench in CFM.

Imagine the case of a simple pipe flow with a cylindrical internal flow volume. Now suppose I am interested in a subset of that volume for some analysis goal...say a small cubic fluid space within that pipe. 3. click on "Input Data"-->"Component Control" to turn off the cube. (This makes it a fluid volume as far as the calculation is concerned?

Turbine Flow Simulation I am currently trying to run a flow simulation on air flowing through a turbine. I have set my inlet conditions, and my outlet conditions are standard atmospheric conditions, and have run the simulation.

I have the simulation set up as an external analysis. The inlet boundary condition is on the nozzle with a volume flow rate of 50 gpm, I am using the pre-defined "slurry" as the material and have gravity turned on. The results show the flow coming out of the nozzle and not hitting the pan surface as it should.

I'm trying to run 2015 SP 0 on a new WIndows10 workstation. Is there an issue with this older SP? I'm out of maintenance and can't download anything newer.

Results have changed since last session I have developed a whole collection of results for different configurations of an assembly in Flow SSimulation Upon opening up Solidworks in a new session and loading those results, temperatures are now 100 degrees or more higher. I have not re-solved those configurations.

I have a time-dependent simulation of a propeller (sliding mesh) operating in a non-uniform inflow. I would like to extract XY plots of pressure vs. Y on the blade surface at multiple radii for each time step (I have solution outputs at 360 time steps). Other than manually loading each of the 360 solutions and exporting the plot data, what are my options?

Is this a bug in flow simulation? I noticed this issue in 2015 SP4 and upgraded to 2016 SP4 and this version still has the same issue. I really don't get it. Any help would be appreciated!

I am running solidworks flow simulation 2017 on an electronic enclosure, and the fluid volume recognition failed. I used the check geometry tool, and got a list of invalid contacts, mostly faces overlapping, body duplication, and zero thickness vertex

using an assembly to run flow simulation, but also continuing to conduct design work on parts. is there a way to separate the functions with the same assembly, so that it does not try to start the thermal when the assembly is opened? Thank you, James. I took a look through options and didn't find the command.

I am running transient simulations on an intake surge tank. This tank will go inline with a mass flow meter on the inlet side, and the outlet side connected to a throttle body. The goal is to minimize the pulsations so i can get a steady reading on the flow meter.

I am simulating the flow around a vessel that incorporates a non-detachable trailer with extendable floats. Also, the wheels and suspension will remain in the water. I am looking to quantify the drag created by this moving through the water. Everything has been going great but I am running into one issue that I cannot seem to fix.

The task is to simulate the thermal situation of an industrial camera with flow simulation 2018. At the moment I´m not really sure if i need radiation in my simulation. In most of the turorial they say if the temperature is not realy high I can ignore the radiation. My first simple calculation and simulations are showing someting different.

Thank youJanko Stellaard, This seems like a good idea! I tried to do that, but I can't find where to define the time period. I defined the wind speed to change in X and Y direction using a 3d vector with time dependency, so that it should go 360 second for 360 degrees but the analysis keeps ending after 0.4 seconds.

I am trying to simulate an industrial factory with heat sources however i cannot get the correct results. I keep on receiving ridiculous values from the solver. My input is 38.9 degrees into the roller shutter, thats my boundary condition.
