Welding in the morning. Machining at noon. Robotics to end the day. This sounds like my type of camp. Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs (NBT) is the foundation of Fabricators and Manufacturers Association. Their mission is to keep manufacturing in America vital with a skilled workforce that is prepared to keep pace with advances in technology.
It all begins at an early age with 240 camps in the US and Canada. Visit the NBT Camp website and enter your zip code to find a location close to you.
These camps are filled with hands on learning in additive and subtractive manufacturing, welding, laser cutting, robotics, entrepreneurship, and SOLIDWORKS.
Summer camps are designed for students, ages 12-16, where they experience modern manufacturing by creating, building, and taking a product home. At camp, they tour manufacturing facilities, learn about entrepreneurship, and meet top industry experts. Thank you to our SOLIDWORKS clients that provide inspirational tours to our future skilled workforce.
Program manager, Dana Brown, stated, “the NBT camps hope to reach 3,500 students this year!” Dana also shared with me their impact study on engaging with this necessary workforce of the future.
