The time has come to announce the winner of the first SOLIDWORKS xDesign Challenge for FRC Teams! Teams had four weeks to work on their moon lander designs, and the submissions we received were out of the world!
A panel of judges made up of SOLIDWORKS executives, including SOLIDWORKS CEO Gian Paolo Bassi, Director of Education Marie Planchard, Vice President of Research and Development Manish Kumar, Professional Online Solutions Senior Director Murielle Martin, and Vice President of Product Management Igal Kaptsan, spent hours deliberating over the team’s submissions. With dozens of entries, it was difficult for them to decide on a grand prize winner. But in the end, the judges made their decision.
With over 25 posts on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform community and constant communication with other teams, a detailed moon lander design, and a creative and well thought out back story, the winner of the first SOLIDWORKS xDesign Challenge for FRC Teams and a $10,000 mega sponsorship award is…

The SOLIDWORKS xDesign Challenge for FRC Teams is open only to eligible FIRST Robotics Competition teams, registered for the 2018/2019 FIRST Robotics Competition season, located in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, with at least 1 adult mentor and a minimum of 5 student team members 14+.
