I recently took a trip to visit some of the schools I work in Montana to discuss their STEM Program. One of the schools I visited called Billings Career Center, a Career, and Technical education-focused school, had an exciting project they worked on with NASA using our STEM in a BOX program.

The teacher and his students designed parts in SOLIDWORKS, then 3D printed prototypes, and machined the final versions. They then sent the finished versions to NASA. NASA is now using the components in the international space station!

Billings Career Center is utilizing Quest’s STEM Program in a very efficient way! First, they sketched the idea on paper, then moved to design it in 3D using SOLIDWORKS. Secondly, they 3D printed prototypes of their designs using their Sindoh 3DWOX 3D printer. The Sindoh 3DWOX can come with our STEM in a Box Program. After finalizing the design, they machined their parts using CAM Software, which is also included in our STEM Program.

It is rewarding to see educators and students use our STEM in a Box program to create and finish projects like this one. It’s exciting to think about the possible projects that can from students using the STEM in a Box program.
