 Rotate part in assembly using mouse right click?

All you need is a SOLIDWORKS ID, or a new or existing 3DEXPERIENCE ID.

This problem has occurred after upgrading from SW2020 (SP.3) --> SW2021 (SP.3).

Previously when I right clicked a part and rotated it with the mouse I believe it rotated about the part origin or the point on the part where I clicked (which feels intuitively for me). This way the part was kind of locked in translation when I rotated it.

Now when I do this the part "flies away" as if the center of rotation is located very far away (I have checked, and the center of rotation is not the sub-assembly origin nor the top-assembly origin). In other words the part isn't locked from translation which makes it really hard to rotate a part in a satisfying way.

I get the same problem when using the "Rotate Component" command.

Has anyone else noticed this?
I haven't found a setting for changing this behavior, is there one?
