In SOLIDWORKS Visualize Connected, you can use the Open command to browse for and open existing content from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Filters let you specify the type of content to show.

Supported data types include:

  • SOLIDWORKS Visualize project files (.SVPJ)
  • SOLIDWORKS part files (.SLDPRT)
  • SOLIDWORKS assembly files (.SLDASM)

To open content:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click File > Open.
    • Press Ctrl + O.
    • On the Visualize home page, click Open Project.
The Open dialog box opens, and recent SOLIDWORKS content appears in the 3DSearch results box.
  2. In the dialog box, to filter the results, you can:
    • Type in the Search filter box.
    • Use the quick filter options to view:
      • SOLIDWORKS Visualize project files (.SVPJ)
      • SOLIDWORKS part files (.SLDPRT)
      • SOLIDWORKS assembly files (.SLDASM)
  3. Select an item and click Open or drag it onto the SOLIDWORKS Visualize Connected app.
To open a file stored on your computer rather than the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, in the lower left, click Open from This PC. The link is available if nothing is selected in the 3DSearch results.
