One of my Design Tables has "$FIXED@Leg Rail-1.1<1>" as a column property. The value in the configurations is set to 'N'.

It is referencing one of my assemblies, but what does it do?

Searching SW Help and Google doesn't  produce any info...

Re: $FIXED@Leg Rail-1.1<1> - what is this?

It determines whether a component is fixed or floating.

I am not sure what you searched for in the help, but searching for $fixed like this:

http://help.solidworks.com/SearchEx.aspx?query=$fixed&version=2018&lang=English&prod=SolidWorks

Gives this help topic as the second search result:

2018 SOLIDWORKS Help - Fixed or Floating Position in Configurations

This help topic, which is the 9th topic in the search results gives a summary of all of the different design table parameters:

2018 SOLIDWORKS Help - Summary of Design Table Parameters

I hope this helps,

Jim

Re: $FIXED@Leg Rail-1.1<1> - what is this?

Hi Hal

The equivalent of this,,,

or to be more accurate (N)ot $FIXED would be float

see 2017 SOLIDWORKS Help - Summary of Design Table Parameters

Go figure... The $ in $FIXED doesn't work/help when used in a Search string in SW Help nor Google.

Thanks!
