3DEXPERIENCE World 2021 is coming up fast, taking place February 8 – 11. Unlike previous years, this year’s event is virtual. Thanks COVID! However, don’t let that put you off attending – this virtual experience is completely free to attend, and you can do so from the comfort of your office chair or your living room couch (popcorn is optional)! If you’ve ever wanted to see what the world’s largest design and engineering conference is all about, here is your opportunity!

3DEXPERIENCE World 2021 brings together a vibrant community of designers, engineers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and business leaders to learn, engage, discover and share knowledge with each other about how to increase innovation and transform their business. Get access to technical breakout sessions for DraftSight® and SOLIDWORKS® training, and resources to improve your skills and connect with peers from around the world. We’ll also hear from SOLIDWORKS CEO, Gian Paolo Bassi, and Dassault Systèmes CEO, Bernard Charlès, on the technologies and trends that will transform the way you work.

Learn Innovate Collaborate Community
As always, DraftSight will be there. What have the DraftSight team lined up?  Well, read on!

What’s New in DraftSight 2021?
Tuesday, February 9th at 14:30 – 15:15 EST (19:30 – 20:15 GMT)

This session obviously covers the new features and enhancements in DraftSight 2021, such as better support of your existing AutoCAD automations (including Visual LISP!), and more comprehensive management of massive drawing sheets.

You will be able to enjoy the same automatic routines from AutoCAD to DraftSight and leverage your existing skills to manage sheet sets in DraftSight. Learn how DraftSight can help you cut costs and save time by migrating from AutoCAD easily, similar to the experiences of millions of DraftSight users around the globe.

DraftSight for the AutoCAD User
Wednesday, February 10th at 13:45 – 14:30 EST (18:45 – 19:30 GMT)

In Don Glaske’s annual session, attendees will be exposed to the many benefits and the low learning curve when transitioning and using DraftSight as it relates to AutoCAD. Learn just how similar DraftSight is to AutoCAD: using your existing autoLISP commands, your custom commands from AutoCAD, and how to create your own personal custom commands in DraftSight. Don will also present how to set up user profile customizations and toolbars and explore batch printing options, and setting your user experience like AutoCAD with similar settings, profiles, AutoLISP routines, keyboard shortcuts and even .dcl file menus. Attendees will also get an understanding of the similarities the SOLIDWORKS user will see when using DraftSight, including taking advantage of SOLIDWORKS API’s while in DraftSight.

I’ve attended this talk every year I’ve been to SOLIDWORKS WORLD and 3DEXPERIENCE World and I still come away with new tips. It’s a fantastic talk, well worth attending.

Ask Me Anything (AMA) with Lynn Allen and Special Guests
Thursday, February 11th at 13:30 – 14:15 EST (18:30 – 19:15 GMT)

Here you have the opportunity to interact with Lynn Allen, Global Technology Evangelist, as well as special guests and fellow attendees in a less formal session to connect with others like you, ask questions and share your DWG victories and challenges

It’s always a fascinating talk with users sharing their experiences and offering advice. Again, another talk I never missed!

The first time I used CAD, it was on a DOS PC with an 8088 processor, 640K of memory and a Hercules Mono Graphics Card... That, well that was a long long time ago. I switched to DraftSight the day it was released and haven't looked back!
