Your favorite Solidworks error messages I wanted to start a new thread where we can collect some of the craziest messages that we get when working with solidworks. Please try to insert the image into the text using the insert image button.
Non-Technical thread:Favorite (clean) jokes I know we've had some great favorite quotes, but sometimes I just need a laugh. So, I'm proposing that everyone post their favorite joke.
Problems inserting an dxf/dwg file into an sketch When I insert a very simple dxf file the forbidden symbol appears immediatley, blocking me to edit this sketch. I've tried changing some parameters in settings section, but it's not solved.
Renaming a model and replacing kills all drawing dimensions I grabbed the original assembly and clicked "save as". Original name was just part numbers with a number rev.

Assembly always marked as dirty Can anyone give me a clue as to why this assembly always needs to be saved, even when first opened? The component in the assembly on its own doesn't have this problem.
How to build a Helical Circular sweep? My sweep function fails when I try to build a second helix on the first one. The error message as "Smooth path is needed for sweep with twist "
How to create a Macro that when running appears a window with information of the surface area? This is essentially what the Measure tool and the Mass Properties tool do. What makes this situation unique to where those won't work?
Low end file management I've been out of the PDM line of fire for a while (probably 8 years), and I know things have changed. What are the favorite low end PDM options, either DS or third party, that are available now?
Shell elements with bolt connectors I was wondering if a bolt connector can be used in an FEA simulation with shell elements? I have set up very basic study utilising the symmetry of a component and this type of error came out (see attached).
"The line defining the axis is not valid" - Revolved Boss/Base In the attached file, I'm trying to create a Revolved Boss/Base using "SKETCH Bottom Surface" as the Selected Contours, and "SKETCH Pattern Axis" as the Axis of Revolution. However, afterI select the contour (no problems) and try to select the axis, SW gives me the error message in the title next to my mouse.
Non-technical Thread: Furry Friends Sometimes you just want to share a picture of your pets (Whatever you may call them: Furry Friends, Fur-kids, Interns, and so on.)
SolidWorks Pranks or: How I Taught My Boss About Customization Decided to pickup lunch today and bring it back to the office so I could work on a few things. While walking back, I notice my manager was just leaving.
Bend Lines and CNC Press Brakes So my issue occurs when trying to bend parts that have bends in opposite directions on the same side of the part (a relief). For example if there was a bend at 10mm and a bend at 30mm from the same edge of the part.
