Has anyone ever had surfaces missing from the surface bodiesfolder? I have several surfaces, visible in the graphics area, butmissing from the surface bodies folder at the top of the featuretree.............? If I then go Insert->molds->insert surface folders the missing bodies show up in the new folders......... anyone have any comments or suggestions?SolidworksApi macros

hi all, I have created a weldment assembly. I have created its drawing and insert a relative view in which i have selected a parts which i need to show in drawing view. My question is what if i want to add a part in that view ? How can i add a part in to that relative view later on ?

How do I replace compnents via API? I am using PDMWorks - I can find all assemblies using a given part I want to replace PartA with PartB is see this example - but it requires a selected component how can I select a component in an assembly if I know its name? = swAssy.ReplaceComponents(sFileName, "", True, True) SolidworksApi macros

In my day job, I have to switch between Unigraphics, SolidEdge and Inventor - gets very confusing. I have had a license of SW since 2004 and always found it to beeasy to pick up after an absence. I just loaded SW 2009 and have noidea where to start. Am I over-confused by the other three softwares, or is SW losingit's intuitive user interface.

Using the API I can use swBomTable.SetColumnCustomProperty tochange the custom property that drives a column just as I can usinghte SW UI. Is there also any API that would allow me to drive acolumn via an equation just like I can using the SW UI? Thanks,SolidworksApi macros

I am having problems with applying appearances. I set up myappearances on a part and then used the Flex command. All myappearances got messed up. Now I am finding that I have to go inand reset appearances surface by surface rather than body by body.

I applied some decals to a part model and originally theyshowed up just fine. However, I went back and deleted or modifiedthem, and now they show up nicely in the model but do not show upin the drawing, the renderings, or the assembly. Any ideas?SolidworksPhotoworks

Often when designing a part, we know we want "steel", buthaven't decided about a specific form of steel, or just don't carewhich kind. So, we just copied one of the steels, and just renamedit to say simply, "steel". But, a number always gets appended, so it actually gets named"Steel (21)". I can't delete that "(21)" part.

Hello, We were told that our parts and assemblies originating in Inventor8 could be converted to Solidworks 2009 without an issue. I have a user thathas been trying to do this, but the parts are coming over as dumbsolids. Is there anything we can do to get the part constraints tofollow into Solidworks?
