Well, nothing much to say except that I just wanted to thank you all for your help, guidance, laughter, friendship, patience and understanding over the last two years. I'm having my surgery on Sunday and as with most neurosurgery (or any surgery for that matter) the outcome is never definite. Without sounding like bleeding hearts, mine is a little bit more complicated as well and has a small trial element to it.

I am curious if anyone in this forum has created a circle inside circle macro or sketch generation tool of sorts? Saving doing lots of work to create one, I am seeing if anyone has already done so. I know the engineering toolbox has a cute calculator (https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/smaller-circles-in-larger-circle-d_1849.html)

If anyone wants to download a FREE tool I built to extract files from our 2017 PDM Workgroup vault (maybe it will work with older vaults) just message me and I'll send you a link to download it. It's freeware and runs on Windows. Here is a screenshot of the user interface:

I have a very simple 3d sketch which looks like a wedge. I just want to loft/extrude the shape to a solid, but am getting errors each time I try. I understand how to loft two faces together, but this sketch shares an edge. I have tried to use every combination of the group select, but get errors each time about the groups not all being closed or open, invalid geometry errors, "cannot knit sheets together" or that I need to select a continuous group.

This is a .NET macro to hide reference features. For example, say you need to use planes in an assembly. So you turn on the planes view and now you will get all the planes from all the sub-assemblies and parts as well. Easy to fix for a small assembly, not so for an assembly with 300+ items.

I asked this question mixed in with another question yesterday and it might get lost in that other question so I am starting it's own discussion: When I am in the Technical Illustration Workshop I do a Save as to generate an .svg file. I then go into CorelDraw and import that .svg file.

In the Properties pane on the left is there a way to save settings? For example: when I create Paths (explosion lines) they always come in at 1pt with Extremities set to Round on both ends. I want to change that default.

I've a small macro that works perfectly (the macro change the size of a sketch text). I try to put this macro in a macro feature, but the selection of the sketch doesn't work any more when it's inside a Function.

Happy Saturday, forum gurus! I use a gauge table to determine bend deduction. However, whenever I make a bend that is not 90 degrees (see screenshot) the gauge table fails, giving the message "The angle of this bend fell outside the bend allowance/ deduction table...".

I have just split up a part and moved some of the bodies slightly to create an effect that looks like it has been wrapped in a cloth. I am now trying to combine the bodies together so I can do a shell on the entire part, but I am getting the error "Unable to create single body that is the sum of the input bodies." The faces are still coincident so I don't know why this is coming up. If I suppress the body move features, it will allow me to combine them, so it seems it won't allow split bodies

I have just recently discovered that if you add a hyperlink to a Solidworks drawing it does maintain the link when the drawing is saved as a PDF. This could be very useful in linking the drawing to other associated documents, like specifications. What I would like to do is add the hyperlink to a small portion of the drawing notes which lists the related specification number.

When I open a SW Assembly in composer all the parts are suppressed and it won't let me unsuppressed them. When the assembly is opened in SW it is all resolved, this is a problem for historic assemblies as well as the ones I'm working on. Any models that are current saved in composer work fine it only is affecting newly opened assemblies.

I have a subassembly that I would like to render with a foam and cling film wrap, like it was just about to be placed in a box and shipped to the customer. I am wondering what the best way to go about this would be, whether I could use the Wrap feature somehow with a foam/cling film part against the subassembly, or whether I should create a completely new part the looks like the subassembly but with the faces lofted to each other so it looks like it is wrapped up. Then just apply some appearance

A curve like solid is cut by using Surface Cut command. Boundary-Surface gives correct result whereas Surface-Loft gives an error message. What is the reason for that?

We got this wonky lookin' part as a step file saved from catia, one of my coworkers was able to convert it to sheet metal but can't flatten it completely, or unfold one particular bend. I'm not sure what the problem is, can anyone help? Also, if anyone happens to know some good thread here on importing a step file of a bent sheet metal part and converting it to sheet metal in SWX so that it can be flattened, it would be some great reading material for me.

I am trying to modify a macro to complete a lengthy task on 3000 files. What I am trying to accomplish is to open a part or assembly( might use #task to batch) set to diametric view, zoom to fit, set wire frame view, rotate part, force rebuild, then last is save as png.

In modeling a bowline knot by sweeping a spline, and choosing circular pattern to sweep on that spline, the end result looks good to the eye, but only until I zoom in on either one of the ends. Then do I find, not a circle but instead a circular-looking polygon of many segments. And the problem with this, is that I need one of those ends to mate concentrically in an assembly.
