"...You may need to rerun (I did that a bunch of times) or copy the correct result files to working directory and reopen the document." What does this actually mean I should do? I ust trying this out for 1st time and getting nowhere...:( BTW, the edit feature on this posting site does not work well at all...(third try to get corrected text in place ....) SolidworksSimulation

I need to create an effective model of a space frame for a arched roof type structure. I also need a model to illustrate the concept and make presentations. I would like to limit the time investment for a structure with hundreds of members. SolidworksSimulation

This error came up on 2015 after adding a shell to model with only beams and forgetting to apply a material to the shell. The error was fixed after updating components and applying a material to the shell. Simulation didn't give the no material applied error. Not a question, just something to help others that get this error. SolidworksSimulation

Since installing SW2014, when I run a simulation, the Solving progress bar hits 100% after only a few minutes but if I expand the task pane the subtasks progress bar is still running through iterations and stiffness matrices. Anyone know if this is a bug or intended behaviour? Seems pointless to show incorrect overall progress. SolidworksSimulation

hello, from what i understand, when the plot is horizontal for displacement, this means the results have converged. im not too sure how normalized value is calculated, is the formula available somewhere so i can understand what it means? As i do more and more loops, target acuracy gets lower, im assumming, this means it is getting more and more acurate, right? thanks SolidworksSimulation

Hi, I need a help in simulating a part (see the attachment). Here the part is only one half. Its fixed at the bottom and from the top another part is pressed until it sits in the slot. So in this process the upper portion deflects.

Hi, I don't understand why the running simulation returns a "Thickness is not defined for one or more shelles", since all my shells aren't with a null thickness. And, btw, when i go out of simulX, all the surfaces of the modell are turning from hide to show, and it's....saying ..... a little boring. SolidworksSimulation

At UW-Madison, we have created a software for topology optimization that can read in files created via Solidworks. You can download tthe attached software and watch an intro movie at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpxXTiA1Lyo Send queries and comments to: paretoquery@gmail.com Have fun, Krishnan Suresh Assoc. It would be nice to get more information during meshing. Athough we get the (not responding) in the window titles we know it's finishing the mesh. Why is this part of mesh cycle using such a tight loop? Could we get more display information during this phase?

Hello..... In our assembly line, one of the process is "push down" rivet into final shape. Look at image below : I have tried to apply force in the top of rivet, then also use "large displacement" But I cant get the final result correct as real life. Someone please give me advice on this case ?

Beautiful. Vectors with a negative magnitude? That should make the design review entertaining. SolidworksSimulation

We like to obtain the forces at a lug of a pressure vessel. However we do not restrain the vessel at the lug but still need toobtain forces at the lug due to internal design pressure etc. Thefree body function seems to be the way to go but it gives us aforce of zero. Please explain how this function works and if there is other way toobtain the forces? SolidworksSimulation

I was wondering if anyone has done any project with theNitinol material model in Simulation? If so I would be curiousabout some of the material property settings you used, and whetheror not you used the exponential flow rule properties. SolidworksSimulation
