How awful is the chain feature in the explode menu? I first hated it in 2009, but I figured I'd give Dessault a few years to make it usable before I started complaining. SolidworksAssemblies

To make a long story short when we have castings we will insert the casting part into an assembly. Then add assembly cuts to make the machining. I could save a lot of time making new configurations if I could add material. SolidworksAssemblies

When I mirror a part in an assembly, I get a mirror which is also rotated. Command Manager>Assembly tab>Linear component pattern>Mirror components. Mirror part about Right plane. There is a message about resolving something but I dismiss it. (Mirror fails to show in the Feature Tree.) What have I missed? SolidworksAssemblies

Hi, In an assembly, I need to mirror components. Ref: 2012-03-08 pic01.jpg My question is; what is the pivot point? How does SWx define this point?

Anyone else find the new toolbox listing of to be awful? Why change it from ascending physical size order, e.g. M5, M6, M8 to a confusing numerical order, e.g. M1.6, M10, M12, M16, M2, M20. Makes fastener lists look completely illogical. SolidworksAssemblies

The Mate PropertyManager likes to stay open, and I can understand this but maybe it should have a thumbtack so you can leave it open or not? SolidworksAssemblies

Hi,I am a newbe and this is my first participation here. Have recently completed a moderately large assembly that has a fairly high bolt/ fastener count of various sizes and I was just contemplating the best way to produce a bolt list that I can forward to our supplier and thought I would ask how you manage this task and is there a way to automate this a little. I find that if you reload sub-assmbly from the vault if there is a newer version of the sub-assembly in the vault with new parts in it, you don't get the new parts and so they show up as suppressed and your sub-assembly is screwed up.SolidworksAssemblies

In an assembly I've created some equations, no problem sofar. Before i assign them i can edit them all with the 'edit all'option, very comfortable. When i asign them to parts within my assembly i can't change therevalues in the 'edit all' window. SW says the part is read only but as far i know it isn't.

Just curious what the largest assembly you have ever workedon is? (Number of parts, not file size) And then, what was/is your system configuration for it? I'll start: ~35,000 parts Dell Precision 390 Core 2 Duo 4 GB Ram FX1400 SW 2007SolidworksAssemblies

I don't know if this is place for this question, but heregoes. I am new to Solidworks and I am practicing assemblies. I have two flat plates, one will have four tapped holes thru it andthe other will have four counter bored features. My question is: how do I get the counter bores to be concentricwith the tapped holes in the first plate?
