Wow talk about a quiet release, no EV or anything. They don't have the 'What's fixed' list up yet. SolidworksAdministration

Out with the old (SW2012) in with the new (SW2015)! Working at a "remote" location, I helped upgrade a test workstation to see if the admin push worked. Everything was upgraded over the weekend and so far, so good. Everyone seems pleased with the newer release. SolidworksAdministration

Since we have upgraded from 2014 SP2 to SP5 users are getting "You do not have permission to access the database in the vault" when accessing Hole Wizard the first time in SW. I found the attached SPR 573348 and it references S-053715 which appears to be missing in action. Has anybody run into this and if so have you gotten around it? SolidworksAdministration

Well, I don't have any statistics but ... I have a feeling that I'm waiting for a response significantly more with SW2013 than it was with SW2012. Any thoughts? ---------- SW2013 SP3.0 SolidworksAdministration

If, like me, you find that your standard custom properties list, properties.txt, is empty or only has one item in it, replace it with this one to have the out-of-the box list of standard custom properties in your drop down list. Edit the file if you would like to customize your list. Charley Leonard SolidworksAdministration

Did anyone catch Sinofsky saying on Monday that the new Microsoft Surface will run SolidWorks? Very interesting! SolidworksAdministration

Yes. They are currently twice as expensive as they were a few months ago, due to the flooding in Thailand. http://www.networkcomputing.com/tapes-and-disks/231902183 Darn, wish I would have read that article a couple weeks ago. Consider Solid State Drives instead. Still more expensive, but the cost/value rate just got cut in half. SolidworksAdministration

Anybody out there had a chance to test drive either of these cards yet? I am really anxious to test the V5900. What is your experience, what cards can you compare them to? What system are you working on?

Just write your answer as a reply. Not too interested if you are on 2008 or earlier. Example: 2009 SP5, 30 users. I wish I could make a real poll.... SolidworksAdministration

We are going to be upgrading our engineering workstations with Win7x64. The question I have is should I be looking at more RAM as well? I know that the 64bit will see all of the RAM (not just the 3 or 3.5 that x32 xp does currently) Thanks...Rob SolidworksAdministration
