I have customized print jobs, but can not print drawings automatically in order - after drawing number. The drawings must be printed after drawing number. 001, 002, 003, ..., 010, 011, ..., 100, 101, ...
My vault does not allow for checking in any items with references outside the vault but I keep getting pulled into issues where someone checks out an assemblies then creates a reference outside the vault and proceeds to have issues. I am hoping there is a way to run a report on this but i am not sure if it could read information from a checked out file. Yea, check out the knowledge base for the following solutions:
After logging into EPDM and either right-clicking to load the custom add-in menus, or loading a data card, I get the following error: "Failed to load add-in mscoree.dll. Reason: Class not registered". I have tried removing all custom add-ins, repairing and uninstall/reinstalling PDM with no luck.
These used to work and an EPDM folder would open up in File Manager that housed the linked file. The hyperlinks have the form"conisio://EPDMVault/explore?projectid=12345&documentid=6789&objecttype=1". Instead I get a pointer/cursor in a hand shape with a "W" in the middle showing in Acrobat when I hover over the link (any link).
Are you using out-of-the-box PDM tasks in your workflow? Did you know that it is possible to customise the scripts for the task to get more functionality? I have published a blog post describing the techniques for customisation and debugging of PDM built-in tasks (such as Convert Task):Code Stack: Customizing SOLIDWORKS PDM Convert Task
Linking different file data card variables In EPDM, how do I set up link between variables of two different file data cards? I want to bring in ECO# from my ECO data card (doc) to DWG file data card (slddrw).
Silly question but my file view shows the number of objects & size in the lower left corner. No one else has this & I have no idea how to modify so everyone sees the same think. Turn on the Windows Explorer status bar:
I'm having problems adding a debug add-in to the PDM Admin tool. When I click "Add Add-in" and select the .dll, it appears in the list of installed add-ins. However, when I click "OK" and then reopen the Debug Add-ins window, it disappears from the list.
I'm attempting to setup a PDM Standard server and there's a couple of hitch points that I haven't been able to locate answers on. If I'm not mistaken (and I could be), you have to use a local windows user account to connect to the database, then input credentials for the actual SQL/PDM system. From reading around, it seems you can bypass needing separate windows user accounts by using the automatic login.
I'm working for a new(to me) company that has a fairly fresh EPDM setup. We are using SW2015 and EPDM2015. EPDM hands out part numbers when you preform a save function, but does not have a provision to provide numbers for configured parts (such as hardware). I've used Adept PDM in the past and it had a function to reserve as many part numbers as you liked.
So I started a thread about a year ago (Fully Nested Top Assembly BoM from EPDM (For Costing)) about extracting an EPDM BoM and then manipulating it against a database of costs to produce a rolled up "costed" BoM. I was going down the path of using the XML stream out of the SW API but, that didn't fly for various reasons. I got distracted by other contracts over the last year and now I am back at it.
I followed the guide from KB S-074196 to setup the revision table integration with SW PDM and also tried the troubleshooting steps from KB S-073768 but I still could not update the revision table. I am using SW PDM 2018 SP1 and tried on 2 computers but problem still exist.
We are medium sized company but we still don't have EPDM in place. How to convince my management that we actually need it? Maybe some presentations, maybe should I invite Solidworks representative to show us benefits of this system?
Re-creates missing toolbox part We recently upgraded to PDM standard, and every time we load an assembly it has to re-create a lot of missing tool box parts even though they are already in the vault, any idea if we are missing a setting?
Everything was working fine till I got an error that " archive server could not open windows registry" . I was testing an add-in for EPDM. The next day I start the computer and I try to add the add-in I get this error.
What toolbar is this settings dialog referring to? This is PDM Pro and I've never seen that toolbar in Windows Explorer. After some playing with the buttons in the settings I realized it's referring to this toolbar:
I have no experience in building queries in SQL on the server. Does anyone have a suggestion/solution for identifying the length specific files (.slddrw, .dwg) have sat in a particular Workflow State? A history of past files, perhaps a specified date range, last 60 days or similar? Much thanks!
I'm trying to set up a PDM task to export a DWG drawing. I want it to take the part number, revision, and description from the data card, and save it in the format of "PartNo_Rev Description.dwg". In the task, it is set up to use the variables, but the only output I get is "_A .dwg". On the data card, I can see the part number, rev, and description fields are all filled out.
Is there an add-in task out there to rebuild files? As you know, when we update a data card for a Model, the Drawing or Assembly needs to be opened and rebult in orfer for the properties to be saved. It would be nice if there were a right-click task that would allow users to automatically rebuild without opening, rebuilding, saving, & closing each file.
