Magic Wheelchair builds epic costumes for kiddos in wheelchairs at no cost to families. Mods is a fabrication platform developed by MIT Center for Bits and Atoms, Dr. Neil Gershenfeld. Mods provides a set of software tools for personal fabrication, intended for use with machines common to Fab Labs, Shawn Liu introduces mods and the integration between mods and SolidWorks. mods and xDesign Fab labs provide widespread access to modern means for invention. They began as an outreach project from MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA), and became into a collaborative and global network.

The Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE Lab Boston, located in the North American Headquarters at Waltham, MA, has two components – a Startup Accelerator and a Fab Lab. This year’s SAE AERO Design West competition took place in the heart of the USA, nestled right in Fort Worth Texas. Students from all around the world and from different walks of life, filled the hotel lobby with propellers, DC motors, and aerodynamic fuselages, as they marched their planes in and out of the judges’ arena. Day 1 of the event was all about technical qualifications. A warm Texas morning welcomed the teams to the Thunderbird Field that hosted the Day 2’s agenda: Flight.

Confirming the Parts On Saturday night, my husband David, proposed a great date. He asked, “how would you like to stay home tonight and assemble the e-NABLE hand.” This was a great idea for two engineers! My work with Fab Labs, Sarah Boisvert’s Lend a Hand to Make a Hand project, and schools using SOLIDWORKS and 3D Printers to create prosthetics, made me realize that I have seen many hands being printed, but I never assembled one.

Master Cam at ITEEA Statasys at ITEEA I’ve been to ITEEA for a numbers of years, but this year something was different. Yes, Milwaukee is a great city.
