When I create weld beads, the size represented in the model doesn't match the size I specified, or the resulting callout. For example, if I create a weld bead with a radius of 0.5in, the model shows a fillet weld with a radius of .325. The old 'Fillet Bead' feature gives you a representation in the model that matches the size you specify.

Hi fellow Solidworks user! So i just started working with DriveWorks. And came upon a question.

I go to the design library and download the weldment profiles, it won't like me download them in the existing weldment profile folder so I created my own folder, I added that folder to the file location for weldment profiles but nothing else shows up except the default sizes. just wondering what I'm missing or not doing correctly. The folder you point to under 'Tools', 'Options', 'System Options', 'File Locations', "Weldment Profiles" needs to have a very particular relative folder structure

I need to have a fillet weld bead pattern at the intersection of the tube to the plate. .125 weld 3 places, each at .75 long, and 120° out. I know that this can be done on a straight fillet weld.

I'm trying to make the joint in the solid model look like the joint in the sample picture I provided. The below is the best I could do but it still looks off. Any ideas on how to make this type of joint?

I have a weldment that I made and the weldment part worked pretty well until I went to have it fabricated. To do that I need a separate drawing for each part so i thought i would save each member into a new part and make a drawing using the information in the cutlist. This worked for all but one part for which I am not given the button to save the cutlist properties. Does anyone know what would cause that option to not be available for the one part?

What is the reason some columns are blank in the table? The ones with the blank cells/values are the one made using non-weldment profile. So you need to fill in the properties into the model cut list to get them in drawing OR update them to weldment profile.

I am curious if this is even possible & I didn't see a discussion asking this. I there a way where you can automatically create the natural blunt end (Detail A & B) for coping pipe instead of the unrealistic sharp point (Detail C & D) for a pipe cope? Because when creating a cut list it takes into account from sharp point to sharp point. I can automatically create the weld gap but that's all I can find.

I am trying to control the number of decimal places displayed for the Length of cut list items in weldments. More specifically, I have modified the Description callout to include the Length property and I want the same number of decimal points to be displayed in the length dimension even when the dimension is a round number. As an example, I have made the following weldment with six sections of 2" x 2" x 1/8" steel tube.

I haven't used weldments and structural members all that much in the past. I would like to display cut-list properties for sheet metal, but I don't see that option when selecting structural members. Is there a way to add material properties like number and description to a sheet metal part so that it shows up in a cut-list? We use BOMs for assemblies and then on part drawings we use the same BOM template, but just use "Indented" as the BOM type when we want the BOM to display the raw material

Is there any way to link weldment name to custom properties. As you shown in picture i want to link weldment name "C channel 80 x 8(8).

I made a frame using c-channel and all I get to show up in the cut list is "material ". When I specify the matirial all I get is "AISI 1020" in the description and length fields. There doesn't seem to be any fields that calls out the actual beam size or length. Am I missing something?

A structural member profile is a cross-section of a beam, tube, channel, or other structural member type. Sweeping this profile along segments of a layout sketch creates the structural member's geometry. There are full collections of profiles and sizes available for download, and it is also possible to create customized profiles. Learn how to access the additional content for standard structural member profile sizes. Create a custom weldment profile by saving a sketch as a Library Feature Part.
