I have a problem with the Route property in Solidworks electrical 3D, the Size/Gauge doesn't display on BOM when I prepare the route for a flattened drawing (Flatten Route). 1-I make a simple scheme in Solidworks electrical 2D [figure 1]

2017 routing. I can get the routing path to work how ever it doesn't matter what size tube I tell it all it produces is a spline. Any Ideas?

Below you'll see the same bit of routing and the same BOM. Between the two BOM's I don't alter a thing except for the option to 'group pipes or tubes with the same diameter and schedule'. If you make the total of all SDR11 pipes mentioned then : 4209+1157+210+418+822+1810+180+47+652+177+3+4626+5888 = 20199 mm

I am currently somewhat stuck with what I think is an issue with my current setup. I have a case which contains two different parts (both are defined as routing parts through the wizard and have the appropriate connection points). Now I would like to create an assembly of those three parts.

We provide the .pcf output capability to write out a .pcf file for piping isometrics and other applications. Theis data can then be used by other applications such as for piping isometrics, pipe design analysis. We have done a lot to improve our .pcf output over the last few releases an continue to do so.

need help with routing... Once you have begun a route at a point, how then do you add a fitting on the starting point later? when i try to add one it says there is already one there when there isnt.

is it possible to edit routing design table? I have tried, but could not edit that table. You have to clarify what you are trying to do and where you are trying to do it.

I have been trying to find a way to make my route sketch dimensions and drawing dimensions in inches but then have the length of pipes in feet in the BOM. I was hoping to have this length appear in the quantity column of the BOM. Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this? I have played around with changing the document units in the for the pipe files themselves, the units for the pipe assembly, and the units for the parent assembly that route is in but am still having issues.

I have a question about routing, I could be doing this wrong however every time I make a model with the piping I end up with 2 assembly files, the first one is usually a flange and the routing sub assembly and the second assembly is the routing sub assembly. Now I know you can make a virtual component which saves the file internally which eliminates the need for having two assembly files however the help mentions :

Create a flattened annotation route for use in a 2D drawing. Insert and edit different tables displaying information pertaining to the route. Distinguish between annotation style and manufacture style drawings. Use the Flatten Route tool to create the flattened route and drawing. Learn to insert, edit and adjust an electrical BOM, cut list, connector table, and auto balloon in the drawing. Learn to edit flattened route.

When I use Flatten route after I routed the wires in a 3D model, the flatten route is a mess. Is this a known issue in Solidworks? Or do I something wrong?

At our company, we like to give each pipe segment it's own unique part number/name. As you know with pipe routing files, every time a new length is introduced, a new pipe configuration is created. Any time I am done with that particular pipe assembly, I'll need to go into each pipe segment, remove unneeded configurations and set the remaining one to "Document Name" (under Bill of Materials Options) so it fits our naming convention. I've gotten fairly fast at doing this through repetition, but it

The more I'm trying to use FOF dimensioning the more I seem to notice that it has limitations. Namely in my experience you'll see things going awry if you happen to use a dimension from one face of flange to another. The problem isn't with that dimension but if however later in the route you for instance want to remove pipe between the second flange and an elbow chances seem to be bigger that you'll get overdefined or other errors.

Not a question, just an observation. And yes I know I'm pushing the envelope so to speak by creating a bend pipe but nevertheless.....

hi everyone, I am a beginner in solidworks routing, I need to 3d model a fire fighting piping system (I have got the 2d schematic with dimensions), and after that I need to choose the correct support positions to minimize vibration effect resulting from pumps operation, any idea where to start? and where to get the suitable tutorials for this particular project? also I need to be working with pipes and fittings with 16" and 18" diameter, and all I can find in solidworks library is up to 14" only

I am attempting to create an hydraulic hose using Routing. Of course that is not one of the standard routing options and the routing library does not have hydraulic fittings or hoses in it that I can find which is fine with me because I want to use our company standard parts with standard part numbers and descriptions. I am attempting to learn Routing using the tutorials at the same time so that is probably where the problem comes in. I have used the Routing Component Wizard to define the hose

I have a question pertaining to flattening a cable route. So I have a cable with a back shell and connector on each end. One back shell is straight the other is 90 degrees. So I have connection points on the connectors obviously in order to make my route.
