I am trying to export an assembly of a sheet metal part with PEM engineering inserts however, only the sheet metal part is exported and none of the PEM inserts show up. The PEM inserts were originally downloaded as STEP files and open normally and were saved as a SLDPRT if that information is relevant.

I am working with a company where they use NX and we use Solidworks. We have been trying to find away so they can make changes in NX and it update my files and when I make a change it updates their files. So far they are going to have to redo all the work I do and I will have to redo all the work they do. The only advantage is I can actually open the NX assemblies, but there are limitations using their files.

When importing an Creo 3.0 assembly into SolidWorks 2017 I can't find the option to use existing. The only option I have right now is to import then replace the components with existing files. Can you screen grab your Tools > Options > Import page with Creo shown in the pull down- maybe you are using 3DInterconnect rather than the traditional translation for Creo files- if so try with it unticked.

Hello, I'd like to be able to import an rfa model - which I believe is a 3D model type used by Revit for library items - into SW. I know that Revit can export a .sat file, but of course I don't have Revit.

Me being a SW guy, recently was forced to learn Revit Architecture, since all the Civil and architects are moving to it. Does anybody know if it is possible to export a part or assembly to Revit to be used as an object or a family? I read some of the other posts and they came very helpful.

Im sure its been covered before. But what is the best way to get a sw model into a building layout done in revit? Christopher Thompson Nov 17, 2009 6:36 PM (in response to Aaron Baumgartner) The last time I checked, the only 3-D CAD file format Revit could import from SolidWorks was ACIS (*.sat).

I am using SolidWorks 2017 to export parts to 3MF. It seems to me there is a bug in the transformation exported in the 3MF file. In all the files I exported, the build node in the 3dmodel.model file looks something like this:

Right now I have an assembly with part dimensions linked to an external equation text file. I'm trying to duplicate the entire assembly including the equation file and part references to this new file. No matter how I do this, each part within the assembly remains linked to the original equation file, not the new one that was created with the pack and go feature. I have also tried saving the assembly as a copy from solidworks, simply copying the folder outside of solidworks explorer, and some

Hi everyone, when i import a 2D dwg, often it happens(not always) that one visual line contains 3 or 4 enteties over each other. This makes the drawing 3 to 4 times as large and often impossible to scale. Is there a way to delete the doubles or simply unify?

Several of our fabricators use Solidworks, and we (the General Contractor) use their IFC models in our project Navisworks BIM model. We are struggling to get the structural BIM properties to publish through. (Mark, member size, mass, length, etc.)
