Ever since installing eDrawings 2017 it won't remember which monitor to open on if you have dual monitors setup on the workstation and drag eDrawings to the second monitor. eDrawings 2017 will always open on the monitor set as the main display. eDrawings 2016 works perfectly fine and will remember the monitor it was moved to. Is there a setting for this somewhere?
I was send an E-Drawing from a client. He wants me to reverse engineer it so he can make some modification to a supplier part. Is there a way I can open the E-drawing in Solidworks? Even if I can edit, just open and take some measurements.
I have one user, using eDrawings 2015. When he pulls up a drawing with a BOM, the information in the BOM is missing. I pulled the same drawing on my computer with Solidworks 2015 installed, using eDrawings. The drawing shows the correct information.
Is it possible to limit the BOM of my eAssembly to show only the top end parts? I don't necessarily want people to be able to drill down into inseparable assemblies (weldments) or purchased assemblies. Click the pan icon
I'm using the eDrawings Model Viewer, and I heard that the eDrawings Professional edition could be used to view step (or stp) files. However, when I tried this on a machine with eDrawings Professional, I got an error message "You need the full version of eDrawings to perform this function". So I wonder... is the eDrawings Model Viewer (the registered ActiveX control) the same thing when you have eDrawings Professional on your machine?
We install eDrawings viewer on non-CAD users to view drawings that engineers are working on. After upgrading to 2017 text is not showing when viewer opens drawings. Both are running eDrawings 2017 SP2. See attached screenshots.
While attempting to do some testing for a new project, I have found that the mobile app for eDrawings (iOS) does not display the decals. I am able to see the decals in the computer based eDrawings just fine. We would ultimately like to use the AR function and see a product with product labels on it. Any know of any solutions/work arounds?
We have recently upgraded to 2016 (after having to wait for our CAM software to catch up) We have two PC's on the factory floor which use eDrawings to measure Solidworks files created here in the the design office. Before upgrading and since 2007 there was never an issue in measuring any part or assembly from solidworks. Now however after upgrading the factory floor are only able to measure anything that has been saved as an .easm file and enabling the "Okay to measure this eDrawings file" tick
We insert a jpeg of artwork as a decal on the appropriate face of the part to display it on the drawing. The drawing views are Shaded and for the past few years the parts' decals have shown fine in SolidWorks and in eDrawings on both the local and network side. We recently updated SW and eDrawings to 2017 and now in eDrawings the parts' decals show on my local side but none on the network side. My coworker has some parts' decals show up on his network side in eDrawings but not all of them.
I attempted to download Solidworks Student Design Kit on my home PC. However it was unsuccessful and I think my home PC will have to be cleared down as it has a number of problems. I now want to put Solidworks on my laptop but as I can't uninstall the version on the PC (not in add/remove programs) then Solidworks won't let me use the licence key again to put on the laptop.
I am currently setting up eDrawings on non-cad users machines so that they can view model and drawings as the work is being completed. The problem I am having however, is that the standard notes that I have on Solidworks are displaying differently on eDrawings.
