I’m in England this week to present at three SOLIDWORKS User Group meetings, but it hasn’t been all work.  The antiquated “Saturday night stay” rule for airfares “forced” me to arrive a day early, and I managed to get in some sightseeing.

The trains are down there.

Westminster Abbey. “Hands down, best abbey I ever seen” – Joey Tribiani (Friends)

My favorite building (so far). The Palace of Westminster.
They’re not waiting to make a call, they just want a picture in a phone booth.
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Now it’s a work day.

Oh yeah, there was a SOLIDWORKS User Group meeting too. Thanks to Kirby Downey, the SOLIDWORKS User Group of London is back and will flourish.

Luke Daley showed off some impressive 3D prints
That’s me in the Kylo Ren mask. Rachel York tells me I’m one of the cool people now.

So far a great time in England.  I’m writing this from my hotel room in Worcester, which was built in the 1500’s.  There are some amazing buildings here too, but today is all work and later the SOLIDWORKS User Group – Midlands meeting at Worcester University, St. John’s campus.  Tomorrow I’ll head to Liverpool for one more meeting – the annual “big one” at Liverpool John Moores University hosted by the United Kingdom SOLIDWORKS User Group North West and Adam Green.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
