Coreless Motor: This multi-body part shows the inner workings of a coreless DC motor. Most of the geometry is made with extrudes and revolves but there are some examples of sweeps and one loft. There are two examples of the new circular sweep function in SOLIDWORKS 2016. This part also goes over some easy to understand examples of surface feature creation used to make some the geometry including the windings. Other features the model include are: combine, freeform, surface knit, offset surface, extrude surface, planar surface, indent, circular patterns and one swept cut. There are two examples of the wrap feature using the “scribe” option. Download this file to learn more about motors and how to use surface features to create more complex geometry.
