Re: Make default part data card in PDM standard

If the card is in the same folder as the original card and you add the SOLIDWORKS extension then save your new card the extension will be removed from the original card thus making the new one the default.

Go into the location where the default data card is located. Save it somewhere as a backup. Then rename you newely created card to the default one. That should do it.

it's not what I want. I want to have more than one and pick one as default

OK, so in your new data card on the right side you have a panel where you can add extensions to which file it should belong. Example for SW parts the extension is "sldprt" . Just add it to your new data card and it will remove automatically from the old one. That way you can switch between the cards easily!

Thank you Husein

There is no "extension" for search card. Is there other option for this purpose?

Michael,

When I save a sample file card to a new one, the extension is automatically removed from the old one. There is no option for the search card?

Re: Make default part data card in PDM standard

SEARCH cards can be assigned to groups.  People can have access to multiple search cards.

DATA cards are associated with extensions.  Files only have one data card associated with them.

Adding to Craig's response. You can uncheck all users on the the old car so the users only see new card which is the default one
