So I have tried importing many different inventor files, converted them to a Solidworks part, STEP file, IGS etc. but it won't recognize the features. It just displays the part as one solid body. My recognize feature option is greyed out as well. Anyone know a workaround?

Re: Feature recognition option is greyed out - Imported Inventor solid body model

Jacob,,, If you have 3D-Interconnect enabled it links the the native file to what you have Imported as nted by the green arrow and -> symbol.

You can right click on that feature and break the link or turn 3D-Interconnect off (in import properties) then import again.

Just a small addition to Dennis Bacon's excellent answer.

Enable/Disable 3d Interconnect Here.
