Re: How can i apply other material in other face of part?

Do you want to apply a different material? If yes then you can rotate the model and add appearances as needed.

For rotation, check Michael's reply here https://forum.solidworks.com/message/675869#comment-675869

You can now navigate, rotate, pan & zoom in Visualize as you would in SOLIDWORKS/ PhotoView 360

Tools> Options> User Interface> Viewport Navigation

Re: How can i apply other material in other face of part?

Preecha,

If you go to the Models tab & select the part you want to modify, then drop down to Part/Normals Control (you might need to click on the arrow to expand it), then click on Select Part To Split. This should allow you to add appearances to different faces. Bear in mind if you have a very complicated part it might break it into hundreds or thousands of surfaces which will act as seperate parts & will need to be grouped to move as one item again.

Re: How can i apply other material in other face of part?

Hi Preecha,

Here is how you Split Parts in Visualize:

1) Select the blue Part tool from the Main toolbar

2) The right mouse click on the part you want to split and select 'Extract Part'

You will see a small separate window pop-up at the bottom of the Viewport. The default value is 20.

Try adjusting the value of the Part Splitter tolerance:

(I am clicking on the same spot on the watch clasp. All silver appearances are 1 part in this Visualize project)...adjust the tolerance value and see a preview of the split live in the Viewport.

A value of only 5 selects only a few polygons around my initial click. So only the flat surface of the watch clasp will be split.

A value of 180 (maximum) will select all polygons of a part, up until a physical surface break. So use value of 180 when you know you want to grab everything on a specific part.

Once satisfied with the polygon outline preview, click 'Execute Split.' You've now successfully split parts and can apply a separate appearance to just the watch clasp.
