Earlier today I was modifying a model and deleted a hole wizard hole. The delete dialog box showed the usual stuff associated with a hole wizard feature plus two features called aligngroups These holes were originally created at the top-level assembly and propogated to this part.
Today I have a real head scratcher. A co-worker of mine is working on creating some augers for us and the flighting needs to be trimmed at the end of the auger. After everything is assembled he created an assembly cut, selected through all-both and selected the flight to cut, selected ok and nothing happened.
Hi all, my colleagueAmen Allah Jliliand I are exhibiting at SolidWorks World 2018 this year. As you might know, each year at SWW they hold a "model mania" contest where the fastest SolidWorks modelers can receive a prize. We wanted to do an equivalent "macro mania" and wanted your feedback on our rules and what you think would be reasonable SOLIDWORKS API programming puzzles for beginner and intermediate-level SOLIDWORKS API programmers.
For every part we create, we use the Custom properties to define PART NUMBER and DESCRIPTION.1. SLDPRT Custom Properties.JPG Then inside a drawing you can use the TABLE BOM and select CUSTOM PROPERTY > PART NUMBER
Sheet Metal Bend Lines Always Showing Whenever I make changes to a sheet metal part, the bend lines show on bent parts in drawings and assemblies even though I've hid them. I don't want to turn off the sketch visibility because it will hide the bend lines for the flat patterns in my drawings.
I am trying to simulate the stresses of a shaft inside two bearings. I am using no penetration contacts. I was able to run the simulation before, but now when I try to run the simulation I get the below error message.
We're getting new drawing and part numbering methods with EPDM implementation. We are mostly project based and thus are constantly making new parts, each which gets a part number. Most parts will only get one manufacturing drawing.
Just a quick heads up, if anyone is having difficulties to vote it could be because you are required to first vote on how the R&D resources should be allocated. Use this link for that:https://forum.solidworks.com/community/solidworks-world-2018-top-ten-list After that no one should have difficulties voting.
I have a macro that prints all drawings from assembly components if they have one. Sometimes it doesn't find a drawing from a local workstation even if I know that there should be one. So my idea is to load drawings from vault and then process these. But don't have experience from SolidWorks PDM.
duplicate configurations with different part names I have an assembly with one configuration as the "salvaged" assembly and now want to have a second configuration exactly the same except with different part numbers for using the new parts. How would I go about doing this easily?
Imported step file doesnt show colors Recently I have tried to import several .step files of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies into SolidWorks that were created by our Electrical Engineer in Altium. When the file is imported, everything goes as expected except the apperance of the PCA is entirely gray (the default SolidWorks gray) instead of the colors I am expecting.
Design Library Callout Note So I tried to create a annotation in the design library that calls out a material on the drawing. I click and drag the saved note from the design library to the document and it tells me "Favorite with this name already exists in the document."
Changing component configurations in an assembly. I highlight the component, down-arrow to the new configuration, select to apply to all assembly configurations. But only the current assembly configuration is updated.
I created a drawing for a part a few months ago and all was well. Today when I go to re-open it, I find that in three of my four dimensioned views, one "end" of each dimension has attached itself to the edge of the sheet instead of the desired part edge. Dragging does not correct the issue. The view that has not been affected is a detail view of one of the affected views.
I'm designing a part that will have some adaptive-3D machined components to it. The part will end up fitting a curved piece of plexi glass with a specified radius. I'm really just looking to see if there is a better way to design the current part I have as this is the only way I know of doing what I'm trying to achieve. Any tips and suggestions for an easier to work with design would be greatly appreciated.
