Why does solidworks sometimes flip connectors in boundary surfaces on rebuilds? Any way to prevent this from happening? Sometimes the boundary blend fails and all i have to do is flip the connectors to fix it. But often the downstream features are now connected to flipped edges because the boundary blend was flipped so i have to go through the tree and fix every failed feature.

I recently discovered a major problem with my SW 2016 SP3, when I noticed rebuild errors through out my entire toolbox library. All parts came out wrong, because the equations driving them didn't update. I tried to re-write some of the equations, but every single time, it gave me "The syntax of this equation is incorrect" message, though nothing is actually wrong with them. Investigating this further, I found that this was the fact with every equation in every part on my computer (check out the

I wondered if anyone has experienced the following . I get this window when I am selecting surfaces that don't make sense for he trim command but then I can't "x" out of the window. It keeps showing up and eventually I have to force shutdown solid works. It is very annoying and I wondered if there is something i can do to prevent that form happening or it is some type of Trim command bug.

Here is simply a chair I have copied from a tutorial. the problem is that i can't put variable fillet on the edge1 and not even able to thicken the chair. I tried to thicken the part before applying the knit command, didnt work, tried to select check boxes (solid and Merge) in the knit command as well, did not work... I litteraly need hints from experts.

Im not so good with surfacing, so can someone help and point me how can I thicken this part? Thickness should be 3mm. Tags: none (add) thicken surface

In this video it seems fillet has been done without Thicken the surface. Is it possible? You have three surface bodies.

I just want to know if there are Surfacing Power-Users who would like to solve a crazy surfacing problem next week. If you are available next week (not in vacation on a remote island, without internet and/or SOLIDWORKS), please reply in this thread, or PM me.

I am trying to model a quip toothbrush..I am not getting how to model the middle part which involves a delicate surface feature. I tried using sweep with guide curve but couldn't do it. I have attached both my model and the toothbrush image. Kindly help

In this video Boundary Surface has been used to loft. I used Lofted Surface instead of Boundary Surface but the result is same. Is there any differences between using these two tools?

Boundary-Surface Tool is used to create this feature. From the Selection Manager Box ‘Select Group’ is used to select curves to create the feature. ‘Select Group’ is not selecting curves in my sketch.

I'm using Combine>Add to combine 3 Solid bodies into one. They are all touching each other with no interference (I'm going to troubleshoot that myself here after I get done posting). This is a model that was created in SW2006, that is now being adapted for a new purpose.

Boundary-Surface Tool In the Boundary-Surface Tool “Tangency To Face option” was selected. When returned to edit mode again to see selected “Tangency To Face” option was back to “None” option again.

What is the logical reason behind this? (or is it possible and I don't know?) In below illustration I can knit any 2 surfaces together.

Hey i dont know whether this is possible but if not i figure it would make a awesome feature. I am building a model of a bracelet, idealy i would want to create it on a flat plane and then bend it along a curve? Is there anyway to do this in solidworks?

I can't seem to figure out why the two surfaces can't be knit. I'm trying to knit the surfaces so that they can be thickened together Anyt tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I am attempting to knit together the lofted surfaces that I have created with the faces of the extruded ribs (shown below) but I am encountering the message "the selected faces and surfaces cannot be knitted into one surface." After this, I intend to thicken the surface knit by 0.25mm. As an aside, I had asked this question earlier, but I did not get any responses, but what I am attempting to model is a wind turbine rib cage with a fabric wrapped around it and then aluminum around that.
