We evaluated the add-in but so far decided it is not worth it. Here is a list of frustrations that we faced. I'm putting these here in hopes of SW fixing these issues in later versions and we might reconsider:
We are looking to purchase and implement Inspection but one of our problems is that it does not seem to have the ability to use a CTQ callout instead of the inspection balloon. CTQ's are one of those grey/gray area's in the standards but are required by our parent company. Is this something SolidWorks is working on implementing? Also would like the CTQ to setup as a symbol or add on button similar to the inspection balloon.
Let's say I only want to have 15 dims on each tab of excel and one part I am measuring now have 45 dimensions. In my template I only have one tab there, is it possible to let solidworks inspection automatically export three tabs based on that one-tab template I have now?
we are working with Inspection plug in in SWX2016. We have a lot og drawings with several sheets in one file. How can i choose one this sheet and prevent that Inspection beginning to set the ballons on the first sheet?
I have MS Office 365 installed but the SW Inspection installer cannot find MS Excel. How do I point SW Inspection to the Excel application? Our VAR has told us that SolidWorks does not support Office 2016.
We have project templates and excel templates saved in a network location. Instead of manually navigating to the file each time, is there a way to set a default file location like we can with drawing templates? This is for 2017 SP 3.0 with the SW Inspection add-in.
I'm using a default template that comes with SW Inspection which it is "Large Logo Template". In that template there's a column called Sub-Type that uses the attribute "@subtype" and the information that the attribute put in the template is what I need, so I'm OK there. Now, I want to know if there's any way I can change the word "Diameter" in the sub-type column.
Hi All, I got an error when exporting report. If I use non-variable measurement value (Pass, Marginal, or Fail) on SW Inspection and then I export it to excel, Why non-variable measurement value (Pass, Marginal, or Fail) become to zero “0”???
Does any body know how to add them in the screen not on the excel sheet? You need to use the SOLIDWORKS Inspection Standalone application and turn on "Measurement Input and CMM Data Import" in the options.
Problems with angular dimension tolerances. I'm evaluating a trial version of the SolidWorks Inspection 2016 Add-In. Regardless of what I set the angular dimension tolerance to, the tolerance that comes up once the drawing has been bubbled is +/- 12.7.

I have a few users that are trying to use the Solidworks Inspection Add-in in Solidworks. The stand alone version functions fine and we have available licenses. We are running SW2015 SP3 and Inspection 2015 SP3. The inspection add-in inst even an option on the add in list and the icon is grey'd out.
Inspection recognizing current config.? I am using the add-in version of inspection on a part with multiple configurations. Each drawing consists of a few views of only ONE (1) configuration with all views set to that config.

I can't get SolidWorksInspection to export data to multiple sheets in the same workbook. Whichever sheet excel opens to will populate. The other sheet is ignored. Both sheets work fine individually but they will not populate collectively.
