Has anyone come up with a way to have more than just one 2D foot print for a component? What I'm currently working with is a panel layout, where on 1 page I want to show where the 4 panels I have are laid out together. Then on 4 later pages, I want to show the panel again with left/front/right/bottom displays. If it were possible to have one 2d foot print showing just the front view, and a 2nd foot print that showed left/front/right/bottom, that would be ideal.

I'm new to SolidWorks and how the product is supported, to which I'm not finding support for 2018 easy to find and not sure if I should follow 2017. Anyhow, I have new computer with win10, and new install of SolidWorks Electrical 2018.0.0 Build 106. Which was a download, they have since sent ver 2107 on dvd not sure what that is good for.

I cannot insert additional terminal blocks if the same part was inserted during a previous session. An error window comes up stating that the file is already open. The part file is located on a network.

I have a request to have all wire numbers to be unique even if they are the same signal. For example all the +24vdc going to a bridged terminal and then going to various devices have a unique number. Where is this controlled?

I am using a wire group with 2 wires, the first phase wire and another is neutral/ ground. I want the wire numbering in such a fashion that the single phase wire must be all odd. And ground wires must be even.

Rotated Attributes I don't know why, but SWE seems to have a lot of issues with any kind of rotated attribute. I created some origin and destination symbols, but when they are inserted in the direction opposite from the orientation I drew them in, I need to right click and go Symbol>Updated.

Manufacturer Part with Duplicate Reference Maybe this is not the best way to go about this, but it seemed like it to me. At least it did at first.

There must be a setting somewhere for this by I can't find it. Every time I create something that uses the Parent In Table mode, it gets inserted at -50 in the X position. Which is WAAAAAY over to the left of anything I'm working on. See the arrow below

When l try to "Show Wire Marks" I get a message: Cannot run "Show/hide wire marks". Selection does not include the following data: "Equipotential mark". The wires are terminated on one end by a BNC connector and other end on a terminal.

Multi-Line Cross Reference? I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to do a multi-line cross reference. What I'd like to do is have my button symbol cross reference look the same as my title block cross references on the left.

I'm not sure what's going on here, but ever since putting 2017 on my new laptop, it asks me to do this Data update EVERY time I start SWE. I've gone through it a bunch of times, updated everything, updated nothing, canceled it, and everything else I can think of. But sure enough, next time I start it, the first thing it does it ask me again.

So I have been tasked by my job to learn to use SWE as part of our effort to migrate our controls design work to it from basic autocad (seriously basic, we are using AC2004 and everything is just lines and text). I have a training manual for SWE 2015, am using SWE 2017, and we are going to 2018 in a few months. Anyway here are my issues:

I'm working on a set of schematics where the +24 is blue, and the DC com is blue with a white stripe. Because the white stripe is a secondary color, on the screen, both wires show up as blue lines, and it's a bit confusing to look at. Does anyone know of a way to have wires on screen show up with a secondary color? Sort of like this:

For some reason, when I go to print a project, I cannot check off the "Export PDF Files" check box, without getting the error listed in the title. I'm new to Windows 10, so I don't know if this is a Windows problem, or a SWE problem. Either way, if anyone has a solution, that would be amazing! Because right now, I can't print any hyperlinked PDFs

Is there a way to export PDFs with a black background? The customer I'm working for uses AutoCAD for everything, so their standard is a black background. I set SWE to have a black background so that everything would look the same when it's exported as DWGs later.
