I have just started using the design table feature in Solidworks and can navigate through different configurations with no problem, I am just confused when I come to generate a 2D drawing with dimensions and notes etc. I would like to be able to have a 2D drawing pre-populated with the dimensions and relevant notes so when I change the configuration of the part 3D model, it changes the value within in the dimensions and notes in the 2D drawing. Is this possible, if it is how do I do this?
I use DIN9861 punches all the time, and I would like to create a design table for this part and use the configuration publisher to make it more convenient to work with. There are almost 800 different configurations for this part.
I just upgraded to 2017 from 2015. I am trying to add a configuration to a part from the config manager tree. I used to be able to right click and select from a large dropdown list with many functions. Now i get this:
Each part in my assembly has a custom property called PART_NUMBER, how do I get that property to show in the design table inside the Assembly? Or any other custom property for that matter? Sorry that is not currently possible.
I have spent many many hours trying to get it to work. Single part with either multiple config's and attached display states or a single config and multiple display state. Attach a appearance "clear glass" selecting [appearance filter]
Hi, I have been asked to parametrize a design using equations to generate different configurations of the design. I have parameters that are only related to parts for which i used configuration (design table) and i have parameters that are related to patterns of the overall assembly these parameters are dependent on each other. So i used 20 equations that involve if and iif statements. and 10 others that involve feature suppression. My design includes more than 500 parts.
I've got a part that has many possible configurations. It's anodized, so under each config it also has a "Raw" derived config. The drawing for each config has 2 pages, one Anodized and one Raw. I'm trying to have this scenario:
We just updated MS Office to 2016, not I cannot insert a design table, or read/edit a table inserted before MSO 2016. I am running 64 bit SW 2014. I have rebooted with no luck. Has anyone else resolved this?
The referenced dimensions in the original equations for specific configurations in my design table keep swapping with each other (i.e. the equation for D1 would swap with the equation for D2 etc.). Any way to keep these fixed? I also changed them for the specific configurations back to normal, but they would reset after going back to them from another configuration.
Does anyone know if is possible to filter the configuration list of a library part when you place the item? Apologies for bringing up Autodesk, but Inventor has an option when creating the equivalent of a design table, to set certain dimensions as 'keys'. I am wondering if there is something similar in Solidworks.
Just upgraded to 2017 and now all the configurations in part files are sorted by History by default. We use configurable files for bearings, fasteners, etc and to select the configuration we want to use in an assembly is horrible. So far it looks like we need to check out, open, change the sort order, save and check back in every file to get this corrected.
SW2010SP2.0 (with both hotfixes), Win 7 x64, Microsoft Office 2007 SP1 I can no longer create a new Design Table. All the button clicks are there, the Design Table Property Manager has all the usual options (Blank, Auto-create, etc.)....
I'm trying to convert screws over to using configurations so that when assembly decides to change a screw length, I can just select that link from the dropdown menu. The problem I'm running into is that the cosmetic threads disappear. You can see that they are set to show, but they hid. This happens when you click rebuild on a current configuration.
I am new to SW and if my question has been listed before, then sorry, but I could not find any articles would be an answer to my question. I'd like to know what symbols are allowed to use in Design Tables. I'd like to use "/" symbol in $PRP@Description in a design table for Elbow.
I am trying to utilize the method IConfigurationManager.SetConfigurationParams. It changes entries in the design table. The parameters have a special syntax, consisting of strings, which can be found here: 2015 SOLIDWORKS Help - Summary of Design Table Parameters
Is it possible to reference a sheet other than sheet 1 in excel as a design table? I am working on a project with multiple parts that use design tables and it would be convenient and useful if I could keep all of the design tables together in one excel file.
I am trying to control the values of Custom Property of the Cut-List Item from the Design table. The purpose is to change the value of the Custom property based on the configuration of the multibody sheet metal part. Is there any way /syntax to get the values from design table? I am using Solidworks 2016 SP5
.As a part of my project , im willing to creat an extended silicone gun and i have some general questions about this case first of all ,how do i find a model of a telescopic pole if there is one ?and what is the best material to choose for making this part(the pole need to carry weight of up to 1.5 Kilos)
