I moved SW2015 Pro SP4 from a Dell T7500 running Win7 Pro 64b, to an HP Z840 running Win10 Pro 64b. Everytime I try to open a file using File>Open, SW crashes. I can open a file through SW Explorer, but when I try and save it, SW crashes. Thoughts?
Pretty much what the title says. I'm sick and tired of trying to find user-generated hotfixes for stuff like this. Unfortunately I've searched high and low, tried every fix for this issue (in older threads) and I'm back to square one. I can enable FSAA just fine but it doesn't actually do anything.
Did you know that Solidworks rescinded the ability to activate your license on two separate machines? This was super handy when you had a portable laptop and an office computer setup. Or, some call it a "home" license, allowing you to activate at the office and at home. Now we have to transfer our license between the computers or purchase an additional license for the second machine.
My philosophy has been buy the best computer with room for upgrades and keep it for a long time. I currently run a Dell T5400 with Dual Xeon Quad cores at 2.5 Ghz that is now 10 years old and showing it's age. I do quite a bit with Solidworks, but also many other apps at the same time (ERP system, SQL DB work, MS Office, etc).
The reason I'm asking is because I'm subscribed for 1 seat, but i really need to be able to work from home aswell. I have a large Xeon workstation and two 28" 4k screens at home, and it really helps me being productive.
I need a copy of my certificate for a potential employer. I can reset my password with my old email which means that SolidWorks recognizes the email, but the email address does not physically exist anymore for me to reset the password. I believe I took it near the end of spring semester my Junior year so April-May 2013.
I'm trying to install Solidworks 2017 SP0 in a Windows 7 Enterprise x64 machine and I'm getting the following error. I've already searched and I can't find the meaning or solution for this: 14:58:57 Error Status 158 0 "***END DUMP OF WINDOWS INSTALLER DATA***"
I am just curious what other classrooms do with the floating license server. Is it centrally hosted or on a computer on the classroom? I would think that it would be easiest to have IT put it on a central server.
Seamus Harrison Sep 13, 2017 11:53 AM (in response to Kristian Grasberger) What service pack of 2017 has you installed? This option seems to be working fine on my machine so may possibly be an SP specific issue if anyone else has come across it. Also, is this happening on all linked notes?
I have attempted to download and install solidworks 2017 several times using my university activation code without success. It downloads completely but only installs about 25% before reporting an error: "The windows installer for this product component did not run as expected: INSTALL" and it suggests I report my install logs to tech support. My schools tech support could not help and suggest that I contact solidworks, please help.
We are facing issues with the Solidworks 2017 EPDM SP 3.0 and McAfee Host Intrusion Protection 8.0 system. The user is able to login into the pdm but the moment he tries opening a file the "Getting Latest Version" window appears and hangs. Disabling McAfee Host Intrusion Protection fixes the issue. We have tried adding EDMServer to the exception list but this doesn't seem to make a difference.
I want to see if there is a way to add a Item to a card list after a document is released. We have specs that get released by word document, They are assigned TSM number and this is what is added to the list. Is there a way through the workflow or task to have this added to the desired list once a new one is released?
Have been thinking about starting this discussion for a while with our local user group, but why not start it on the forums! The question is what other software tools/utilities do you use everyday in your normal workflow? Mainly looking for the free ones, or that have free versions to start with.
Loaded SW2017 SP4.1 was on SW2016 SP3. Updated video card driver to certified driver on solidworks web site for 2017. My control panel shows the right dirvers but the Solidworks Rx shows a different video card driver. Rebooted, no change to Solidworks Rx still show different driver.
New install of solidworks 2017, after the install is complete I start it up and the splash screen comes up but in a few seconds it gets to verifying license and shuts down the splash screen. Can someone help me
I need to deactivate my solidworks from one computer and activate it to another. The problem is that my Solidworks failed to install properly on the initial machine so I cannot deactivate the account from the computer in the normal way. ring your VAR, they will get it deactivated for you
